BATMAN fans got their first chance to get a closer look at Ben Affleck’s costume as his cape and cowl and a chilling photo came out of the shadows at Comic-Con.
To coincide with Batman’s 75th birthday celebrations and ahead of the release of the upcoming ‘Batman VS Superman: Dawn of Justice’, DC Comics released this moody character shot of Hollywood’s Ben Affleck as the Dark Knight himself.
CONTROVERSIAL CHOICE: Ben Affleck to play Batman
An estimated 130,000 attendees are expected at this year's convention, which will celebrate the 75th anniversary of both Marvel Comics and the first Batman comic book.
But the comic company didn’t make it easy for fans to spot — hiding it in plain sight as part of a montage wall celebrating the iconic character’s 75th birthday.
DC Comics teased fans attending the nerd mecca that is the San Diego Comic-con about the newly released image it quickly received a thousand shares within the first hour.

DC Comics said on their website:
“The filmmakers wanted to include this new cinematic version of the Dark Knight in the anniversary mosaic so it could be discovered by fans!”
But that wasn’t all Batman fans got. They also got a closer look at the cape and cowl Affleck will wear in the next film.

Affleck’s costume has already sparked widespread reaction around the world.
The bat-ears are shorter than other costumes worn in the Tim Burton and Christopher Nolan Batman films.
The cape also has a “a very low drag coefficient,” according to Co-Publisher Jim Lee in an interview with USA Today.
One of the biggest criticisms of the batsuits in every Batman movie has been the lack of movement allowed by the usually stiff costumes, MTV reports.
Fans were jumping on the official Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Facebook page to express their thoughts on the caped crusader’s new look.
Baltazar Trejo posted: “He does look like the batman with that chin.”
Dorival Bezerra wrote: “In Snyder we trust!! The visual is amazing.”
FahAd MÏr said: “ooks more like daredevil in black costume!”
Radoje Milic apprived: “This is how Frank Miller’s Batman Dark Knight Returns looks like! Good job! Everything is fabolous, can’t wait for trailer!”
Filming on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is underway in Michigan in the US.
