Angry Birds movie cast includes Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Peter Dinklage

IF you are an Angry Birds gamer and shot one billion birds you know this. However, if not, here’s the cast of the animated feature film.

ANGRY Birds gamers will know if they shot one billion birds in the past 48 hour, the names of the actors and actresses behind the animated movie that is expected to hit cinemas in July 2016.

However, Sony Pictures, was happy to placate others not so keen on the game — two-and-a-half billion people play — with the voice cast and a look of the characters of the Angry Birds movie.

Jason Sudeikis will be voice behind the main character Red, a bird with a bad temper; Josh Gad, in his first animated role since Olaf in the worldwide hit Frozen, plays speedy Chuck; and Danny McBride is the volatile Bomb, Rolling Stone reported.

Game of Thrones actor Peter Dinklage (Mighty Eagle), comedienne Maya Rudolph (Matilda) and Bill Hader, who is starring in new movie The Skeleton Twins, plays a pig.

The supporting cast includes YouTube stars Smosh (Ian Andrew Hecox and Anthony Padilla, who have almost 19 million YouTube subscribers.

Not only do we have Jason, Josh, Danny, Bill, Maya, and Peter bringing these characters to life, but they’re surrounded by an all-star ensemble of emerging comedic talent — these are some of the funniest people out there today, and we’re thrilled to have them all on board,” said film producer John Cohen.

Dwight Caines, president of Theatrical Marketing for Sony Pictures, said: “With two and a half billion gamers around the world, Angry Birds is one of those brands that can drive massive fan engagement. That’s why we wanted to bring this unlock to the fans first. Our filmmakers are cooking up a hilarious movie, and we know these fans can’t wait to see how they’re going to bring the Angry Birds’ story to life on the big screen of movie theatres.”

“We heard limbs and dialogue were all the rage in modern animation so we went all in. Not just one, but all of our characters have legs and wings! Except for the pigs, that is,” added Blanca Juti, Chief Marketing Officer of Rovio.

Angry Birds the movie is scheduled for release on July 1, 2016.
