Princess Kate has wowed fellow celebrities in vibrant green and Diana’s emerald necklace at the Earthshot gala in Boston, as she appeared to shrug off Harry and Meghan’s Netflix drama.

Accompanying her husband Prince William, Kate stunned US fans and fellow guests, who included David Beckham, Annie Lennox, Rami Malek, Ellie Goulding, and R&B duo Chloe x Hallie, as part of the Prince of Wales $90 million Earthshot prize.

The awards ceremony, in which Australian entry Revive our Oceans: Indigenous Women of the Great Barrier Reef, was one of five winners, came just a day after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle dropped the explosive teaser for their Netflix series.

Critics claimed it was the latest attempt from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to rain on the Royals parade, coming less than 24 hours before the blue chip event to announce the first winners of the Earthshot Prize, which has been dubbed the “Nobel Prize for the environment’.

But Kate and William appeared to leave Netflix drama behind them.

The Princess of Wales was all smiles as she walked the green carpet in a $134 rented electric green dress from rental platform HURR by Solace London and Princess Diana’s stunning emerald green necklace.

Guests were asked to wear recycled or borrowed clothes to the upscale eco-shindig.

Beckham was on hand to award one of the prizes of the television show.

Each of the five winners were awarded 1m STG ($A1.81 million).

One of those winners were the Queensland Indigenous Women Rangers Network – a female-led program that combines 60,000 years of indigenous knowledge with digital technologies to protect land and sea.

The group plays a crucial role in protecting the Great Barrier Reef.

“Our Women Rangers Network exists to protect our home and continue our traditions. We have made big first steps, but we have a long way still to go,” Managing Director, Larissa Hale said.

BIDEN, PRINCE WILLIAM DISCUSS ‘SHARED GOALS’

Prince William and US President Joe Biden have discussed tackling climate change and mental health problems during a warm meeting in Boston.

The pair met on the final day of the Prince of Wales’s US trip, which will culminate on Saturday (AEST) with The Earthshot Prize ceremony, his ambitious initiative to support local environmental protection efforts.

“Good to see you again,” Mr Biden said to William at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum.

The prince said their meeting spot overlooking the Boston skyline was a “spectacular setting”.

Earlier, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said the pair expected to discuss “their shared climate goals, prioritisation of mental health issues and decreasing the burden of the disease”.

The trip is the first time William and his wife Catherine have visited the US since 2014, although they crossed paths with Mr Biden when he and other world leaders descended on London in September for the Queen’s funeral.

PRINCESS KATE STEPS OUT IN STYLE AMID HARRY, MEGHAN STORM

Kate Middleton has visited Boston’s prestigious Harvard University as controversy continued to swirl around the release of a trailer for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Netflix docuseries and a race row enveloping Buckingham Palace threatened to overshadow the Wales’ tour to the US.

The Princess of Wales stepped out alone for the first time since arriving in the US earlier this week, smiling and waving at crowds of supporters as she arrived at The Centre of the Developing Child at Harvard University, where she will “have a discussion with researchers about the advances in science that can be harnessed to achieve a promising future for every child”.

It comes as Prince William made a visit to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum, where he met with America’s Ambassador to Australia, Caroline Kennedy, and where he will later hold a meeting with US President Joe Biden. On Friday night local time, the couple will attend the Earthshot Prize gala – an event described by royal insiders as a “Super Bowl moment” for the future king.

Ahead of their engagements, the royal couple shared a series of black-and-white photos of themselves preparing for the event, which, along with their three-day US tour, has been dramatically overshadowed by controversy.

But Middleton did not appear remotely stressed amid the ongoing scandal as she stepped out for her solo Harvard trip with the 40-year-old looking ever elegant in a blue houndstooth dress, which featured long sleeves and a collar, and which was paired with a pale blue handbag and a pair of dark blue heels

Needless to say, the couple will be hoping the gala goes off without a hitch, as controversies continue to swirl around them.

Hours before the couple touched down in Boston, the Prince’s own godmother – and close confidante to the late Queen, Lady Susan Hussey, sparked a furious race row when she was accused of making racist comments to black domestic abuse campaigner Ngozi Fulani at a Buckingham Palace event.

As the couple were mid-flight, their Kensington Palace spokesman issued a statement condemning the “unacceptable” comments made by Lady Hussey – who resigned from her role in the royal household – however the controversy has already cast a bleak shadow over the Wales’ US tour.

Then to make matters worse, an “official teaser” for Harry & Meghan, Netflix’s six-part docuseries on the private life of the Sussexes’, was released as the Wales’ began their US tour, their first international engagement since the Queen’s death.

Royal aides believe Prince Harry and Markle deliberately timed the trailer – which appears to threaten more damaging accusations against the royal family – to overshadow his brother’s momentous visit.

“I think that the day seems chosen to ruin Kate and William’s trip – to take away everything from that,” royal expert Angela Levin told the Sun.

“To pile it on. There was no need to do it that day. It was done deliberately to spoil their visit.”

The trailer, which used a screenshot of a stony-faced Middleton, has been described as a “declaration of war” from the Sussexes, and that any hope of ceasefire in their ongoing acrimony with the royal family is all but over.
