Teen star JoJo Siwa has revealed she’s split from her girlfriend, after they came out together in January.

JoJo Siwa has announced she has split from her girlfriend, Kylie Prew.

The 18-year-old US singer came out in January, before weeks later revealing she was in a relationship with Prew, 17, who was her best friend.

Speaking on Paris Hilton’s This Is Paris podcast, Siwa revealed they recently called time on their blossoming romance.

“I have yet to talk about this officially, publicly, but we broke up,” Siwa said. “But she is literally still my best friend. I talked to her yesterday, she just got a new puppy. She’s awesome. She’s having the time of her life, I’m having the time of my life.

“I’m really lucky that I didn’t lose her completely because, you know, even though relationships end, friendships don’t have to end.

“I was very happy that it can be, because that’s all I wanted. But I’m really happy that I remember all the fun times, all the good times, and nothing bad happened, it just is the definition of a cheesy saying of ‘right person, wrong time’ and I hate cheesy sayings, but they’re true.”

The loved-up duo regularly flaunted their romance on social media over the last few months, with Prew dubbing Siwa her “soulmate” and “forever person” in a post in May.

Siwa paid tribute to Prew on their six month anniversary in July, saying it had been “by far” the best time of her life.

“I will forever love you more than you know,” Siwa wrote at the time.

Siwa last posted a picture with Prew in late September, uploading a selfie of them with their new puppy.

The pair first met on a cruise ship in December 2019 and became best friends, only to start dating a year later.

Siwa, who shot to fame in 2015 as a child on the series Dance Moms before embarking on a successful solo singing career, came out in January in an Instagram live video, a month after prompting speculation over her sexuality after posting a picture of herself wearing a shirt that read “Best. Gay. Cousin. Ever”.

The Boomerang singer, who has a net worth of $18 million, told Jimmy Fallon in February that it was Prew who had encouraged her to share her sexuality with the world.

“I do have the most amazing, wonderful, perfect, most beautiful girlfriend in the whole world,” Siwa said on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

“One day I was on FaceTime with my girlfriend … And I was like, ‘I kind of just want to post this picture on my (Instagram) Story’.

“She was super encouraging, she was like, ‘do it’ and I was like, ‘all right’ and I did it.”

JoJo Siwa came out in January.

Renowned for wearing big, colourful bows in her hair, Siwa embarked on her first major concert tour, the D.R. E. A. M tour, in North America, the UK and Australia in 2019.

The Nickelodeon star has more than 12 million subscribers on YouTube, where she regularly shares video blogs with her diehard fans

Siwa was included on Time’s annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2020.
