Holly Madison has opened up about her first date with Playboy founder Hugh Hefner and how it left her “humiliated and horrified”.

Former Playboy Bunny recalls her 'mortifying' experience with Hugh Hefner

Holly Madison is reflecting on her years in the Playboy Mansion in detail, revealing how she was “mortified” when Hugh Hefner was “pushed on top of her” for sex the first night she visited the mansion.

The 41-year-old, who dated the Playboy founder from 2001 – 2008, also claimed Hef would regularly take and share photos of drunk women without consent, adding that she’s relieved the behaviour wouldn’t fly nowadays.

Appearing on the Power: Hugh Hefner podcast on Monday, the reality star recalled being invited on a night out with Hef, who died in 2017 aged 91, which she hoped would end with him asking her to move into the Playboy Mansion.

Much to her shock, the night took a turn when she was expected to sleep with Hef on the first night.

“I wasn’t necessarily expecting to have sex that night, I thought it would be more of a first date – even though obviously it’s not a very traditional first date,” Madison said, explaining that she met up with the late Playboy boss in a club.

“I thought it would be more the type of thing where I saw what happened, saw what was going on.

“If I wasn’t comfortable with it, I wouldn’t have to do anything and I could make my decision on whether I wanted to come back for date number two or not.”

Explaining that she was “wasted” when she was taken back to the mansion with a group of women, Madison said what happened next was “traumatic”.

“He was literally pushed on top of me. And after it happened, I was just mortified and embarrassed and it had way more of an emotional impact on me than I thought it would.”

While Madison clarified that it wasn’t Hefner’s age that left her feeling this way, given her initial perception of him was that “he was really smart,” she was “horrified” that the rest of the mansion knew the ins and outs of their sex life.

Madison said she felt ‘mortified’ that everybody knew she’d slept with Hef that night.

“It was more the group aspect that was really out of my comfort zone and just the feeling of ‘Wow, okay, that happened. Everybody knows it happened’.

“I kind of all of a sudden felt like everybody was going to know about me, and I was horrified by it.”

Madison said the next day, she came forth and asked if she could move in to the mansion, remarking that if she wasn’t granted a spot, she would have been “haunted” by the experience.

Claims Hef took photos of intoxicated women without consent

Madison also told the podcast that Hefner would often take “sexually explicit” of intoxicated women who didn’t already live in the mansion without their consent.

“When girls would go out with Hef, in the limo, in the nightclub and come back to his room after, he was constantly taking photos of these women on his disposable camera,” Madison said.

“And these women were almost always intoxicated. I know I was, heavily intoxicated,” she added, explaining that these women weren’t “regular girlfriends” but “new girls who were joining him for a night for the first time, or women who had flown out from across the country to test for a centrefold in allegedly professional conditions.”

She said the women would “oftentimes would be pressured, not necessarily directly by him, he would have some of his girlfriends do it too, pressure them to come upstairs.”

After taking photos of the women in his room, for example, “in his bathtub with your top off and some other girl is doing some sexually explicit pose,” Madison said Hef would subsequently make copies of the images and hand them around to others in the mansion.

“I don’t know if he just assumed that was okay because all these women want to be in the magazine so bad so they must be okay with getting naked,” Madison said, adding that when some images surfaced online, she eventually confronted her boyfriend about it.

“I went to Hef and said, ‘Can you stop handing out our naked pictures to everybody, because one of the girls is putting it on the internet’,” Madison said.

His reaction was to tell the woman who posted them that “Holly narced you out,” which led to a confrontation between the women.

Madison said Hefner revelled in the tensions between playmates.
