Emily Ratajkowski opens up about her Blurred Lines experience with Robin Thicke

Emily Ratajkowski has revealed why she spoke up about her alleged sexual assault on the set of Robin Thicke’s Blurred Lines.

Emily Ratajkowski has opened up about Robin Thicke allegedly groping her on the set of his Blurred Lines music video.

During an interview with People TV, available to stream on Flash, the model spoke up about why she shared her experience in her book My Body.

The Gone Girl actress said the confession didn’t feel brave to her and wasn’t meant to be a “gotcha moment” for the singer.

“For me, the reason I shared that experience was because for so long I talked about how that video had been so empowering and how it felt so great,” she said.

“That’s still true, I had a lot of fun on that set. Especially, I was 21 and compared to other jobs I was doing at that time, it was a really good time. I was surrounded by women.

“Then this one thing happened and I think that it says so much about power dynamics and all these amazing women who were there.

“None of us were in a position to do anything to protect each other and that’s why I told that story.”

The star said she had not heard from the Grammy nominee, and said she would handle the situation differently if it happened now.

“I’m really in a different position”, she said.

“I have a name for myself so I would be in a position to say something, but I think there’s so many young women who aren’t. They’re not just models, they’re working all kinds of jobs.

“I think that’s why it’s important to talk about these things.”

Ratajkowski was one of three models who appeared in the video, which also starred Pharrell Williams and T.I.

Published in The Sunday Times, the excerpt from the supermodel’s memoir claims Thicke groped her bare breast while shooting the 2013 music video that would launch her to fame.

Thicke has not publicly responded to Ratajkowski’s allegations.
