Popular DJ and father-of-three Diplo has rejected rumours he is romantically involved with a 19-year-old social media star after she claimed they’ve been living together in LA.
The musician, real name Thomas Pentz, took to Twitter this week to respond to criticism after TikTok personality Quenlin Blackwell told her 4.1 million followers she’s been living under his roof.
He clarified that she is a tenant in a property he owns, which he also uses as a studio.
Blackwell later issued her own response, assuring fans she’s “not being groomed”.

Confusion surrounding their living situation and friendship swirled after Blackwell told followers in a video: “I live with Diplo right now, and he fully supports my endeavours”.
Her remark led to raised eyebrows from fans — some who assumed they must be romantically involved — prompting the 41-year-old to take to Twitter, admitting he could see how people could get a “twisted idea” from her video.
The star, who is behind global hits like Lean On and Sia’s Electric Heart said: “OK so I rent one of my properties to @quenblackwell. And yes I use the studio that is in that building.
“Her social media is sarcastic and chaotic and I can see you can get a twisted idea but there is nothing but a friendship between us.”

In a follow-up tweet, he wrote: “As a landlord I don‘t really consider age or race as a qualification. U just gotta pay security deposit. And don’t poke holes in the walls or ruin my carpet.”

Meanwhile, Blackwell issued her own response, in which she referred to him as her “LA Dad”.
“I’m an adult. I’m not being groomed. Platonic relationships exist. I’ve been living here for over a year … I’d rather break both of my legs and be forced to walk than pursue Diplo romantically and he’d rather choke. He’s barley (sic) in LA bc he’s so busy,” she tweeted.
She went on to assure fans her parents were comfortable with the situation.
“Diplo has given me the opportunity and the security to create,” she wrote.
“Diplo and his team are my mentors in LA and they are my safety net. Diplo and his team have saved me numerous times from the weirdos in L.A.”

A number of Blackwell’s Tik Tok videos have featured the DJ, including one clip of them dancing together with the caption: “When you don’t have to pay rent.”
She also posted several other videos titled “Living with Diplo: The Series” where she highlights what it’s like to live with the DJ.
Diplo has three sons; Lockett, 10, and Lazer, six, with ex-girlfriend Kathryn Lockhart, and Pace, seven months, with ex Jevon King.
In the past, he’s been romantically linked to M.I.A. and Katy Perry.
