New reports reveal icy family relations as Charles and William refuse to apologise to Harry

With just 70 days to go until their father is officially crowned King of England, new reports have emerged that the new Prince of Wales is ‘incandescent’ over his brother’s demands.

Harry and Meghan’s popularity plummets below Prince Andrew

New reports have emerged describing the situation between Prince William and Prince Harry as a “toxic stalemate” with just 70 days to go until their father’s coronation.

“There is still a huge amount of ill will boiling over,” a source told the Daily Mail.

It’s understood that Prince Harry is demanding a private apology from his father and brother before he’s willing to fly back to the United Kingdom for the ceremony.

But sources say their relationship is now “non-existent”.

It’s become a big sticking point as sources say Prince William is “not in the mood for any conversation” after the Duke of Sussex and his wife, Meghan, launched a months-long publicity war on the royal family. The couple made headlines with a six-part tell-all on Netflix while Harry broke sales records with the release of his memoir ‘Spare’.

“I hear that William has no intention whatsoever of apologising and remains incandescent, especially around the way his wife, the Princess of Wales, has been treated,” one source said.

“What are the family meant to apologise for? As the late Queen said, recollections may vary.” said another.

However, the King is said to be open to having a conversation.

“I don’t think His Majesty is minded to apologise for anything at present. Quite the opposite,” a source told the newspaper. “Conversations could still happen in the next few weeks, I am sure, but they will be waiting a very long time for an apology. There’s a great deal of hurt.”

The TV series and the book both revealed intimate details of goings-on behind palace doors as well as private conversations and an alleged physical altercation between the princes.

Charles will be officially crowned at Westminster Abbey on May 6.

Details about the ceremony are still largely speculative, but it’s understood that ‘Save the Date’ cards will be issued in two weeks to an estimated 2000 guests.

It’s significantly fewer than the 8250 who were invited to the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II and the streamlined approach is said to reflect the cost of living crisis.

Formal invitations will follow, issued three weeks before the event.

Insiders say Harry has an open invitation to all royal events, despite having resigned from his official duties in February 2021, but no-one knows what he’s planning.

At this stage, there has been no mention of Meghan attending the ceremony.

Their son Archie will celebrate his fourth birthday on the same day.
