Co-stars Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell make red carpet debut at CinemaCon

They’ve sparked romance rumours due to their close rapport. Now Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell have walked their first red carpet together.

Sydney Sweeney reveals cheeky nickname for co-star Glen Powell

Sydney Sweeney has a cheeky nickname for her rom-com co-star Glen Powell.

While at CinemaCon 2023 in Las Vegas this week, the US actress referred to Powell as “Top Gun” in a jovial exchange. The star appeared in the 2022 reboot Top Gun: Maverick.

“We love seeing ourselves on the big screen,” Powell said, according to People, before the first trailer for their upcoming film, Anyone But You, played, Page Six reports.

“Oh, please, Top Gun,” Sweeney said in response, prompting Powell to tell the convention attendees, “I love when she calls me that.”

Sweeney, 25, proceeded to make a joke about how she thought Powell, 34, was actually Miles Teller – another actor from Top Gun: Maverick – “until the fourth day of shooting [Anyone But You]”.

“You knew I’m not Miles Teller,” Powell said, to which Sweeney playfully replied, “No, I did. I actually thought you were Tom Cruise, though.”

The pair’s off-screen chemistry was reportedly palpable as they continued to banter throughout the appearance.

“Anyway, as you could probably guess, this movie’s about two people that hate each other. Sydney plays a character [who is] a real nightmare,” Powell told the audience, as Sweeney interjected to describe her co-star’s character as an “a**hole.”

“And what better place to put a nightmare and an a**hole than on the other side of the world in the most romantic setting imaginable?” Powell added of the film, which was shot in Australia.

The two looked cosy while posing for pictures together at the event, and their rapport added fuel to recent romance rumours, despite both being in relationships.

Sweeney is engaged to Jonathan Davino, with sources telling TMZ that “all is well between them” and denying the romance rumours with Powell.

However, the actress’s representatives did not immediately respond to Page Six’s inquiry about the status of their relationship or why she hasn’t been wearing her ring.

Meanwhile, Powell’s longtime girlfriend, Gigi Paris, recently unfollowed Sweeney on social media, sparking speculation that she and the hunky movie star have split. His reps also haven’t replied to a request for comment.
