Following the heavy scrutiny of their relationship over the last two years, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have suddenly retreated from the spotlight.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce wanted to live a more “normal life” following the heavy scrutiny of their relationship over the last two years.

The couple — who hasn’t made a public appearance since Super Bowl LIX — have spent the last seven weeks at secluded destinations and sneaking in and out of restaurants in busy cities.

A source told Us Weekly that the two “needed time for themselves” following Kelce’s football season and Swift’s record-breaking Eras Tour, which concluded in December 2024.

“Taylor and Travis are doing great, and they’re still very much together and in love,” the insider confirmed. “They’re just taking a break from the public eye.”

Another source told the outlet that the two have been vacationing and splitting their time between Kelce’s home in Kansas and Swift’s residences in Nashville, Rhode Island and New York.

“Just doing nothing at all has been a dream of theirs for a while,” they said, noting that the couple loves to watch movies and work out when they’re alone.

Kelce and Swift, both 35, have been hosting their friends and family at their homes rather than hitting the town.

A third insider said the couple is really “enjoying some R&R after working their butts off” and are “making the most of their time off.”

“They’re fully living their best lives,” they gushed.

The couple began dating in the summer of 2023, toward the beginning of Swift’s nearly two-year tour, which “obviously threw them into the spotlight.”

However, a fourth insider told the outlet, “Taylor and Travis have learned that so much attention on their relationship is not the best thing.”

The Kansas City Chiefs star reportedly felt like he got caught up in the new-found global fame.

Kelce made the most of all the opportunities, signing on to several TV shows and movies while trying to juggle his NFL career.

His busy schedule led people to question whether he was fully committed to the game — part of the reason he reportedly “wants to take [a breather] from the public eye.”

“He was working too much last year, and he didn’t play as well as he wanted,” the fourth source said. “He wants to have a good season and not have the focus be on his relationship with Taylor.”

Last month, Kelce announced that he would return for one more season with the Chiefs, vowing to come back better than ever.

Despite having downtime until NFL training camp starts in July, coach Andy Reid said Kelce has been “training like crazy.”

He has also been making time for his weekly New Heights podcast with brother Jason Kelce. While Travis pops up every Wednesday, Swift went on a social media hiatus and has not been photographed head-on in over a month and a half.

She also skipped the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards despite winning nine categories.

Along with wanting a break from the limelight, the first source said she wants to steer clear of the ongoing legal drama between Justin Baldoni and her best friend, Blake Lively.

“All the stuff going on with Blake is another reason Taylor and Travis want to keep to themselves,” they shared.

“The last thing Taylor wants is to be dragged into a controversy when she’s trying to destress.”

Swift was pulled into the drama after the It Ends With Us director alleged that Lively used the singer’s fame and power to pressure him into giving in to her demands.

Lively sued Baldoni in December 2024 for sexual harassment, which he denied and responded with his own defamation and extortion lawsuit.

While we previously reported that Swift “can’t help but feel used” by Lively, another source told us she is “not afraid” of being deposed.

“[She] is a strong woman and she’s not hiding from anything,” an insider said last month.

“Taylor is simply enjoying some alone time with Travis and being under the radar for a little bit,” they added.
