The Marvel actress has issued a furious statement after a picture of her went viral on social media.

Scarlett Johansson is blasting a viral AI-generated video that shows herself and other Jewish actors denouncing Kanye West’s antisemitism.

The manufactured video — which was shared by hundreds of people on social media Wednesday — opens with what appears to be Johansson wearing a T-shirt with a Star of David in the centre of a middle finger, with Kanye’s name written below.

Other AI-generated stars shown wearing the shirt include Drake, Jerry Seinfeld, Steven Spielberg, Mark Zuckerberg, Jack Black, Mila Kunis and Lenny Kravitz, reports The New York Post’sPage Six. The video then shows Adam Sandler flipping the bird while wearing the tee as the Jewish Folk song Hava Nagila plays in the background.

The clip closes out with “Enough is Enough” before urging viewers to “Join the Fight Against Antisemitism”.

Johansson, 40, lashed out over the video creator using her likeness without her permission, calling out “the misuse of AI, no matter what its messaging”.

“It has been brought to my attention by family members and friends, that an AI-generated video featuring my likeness, in response to an antisemitic view, has been circulating online and gaining traction,” Johansson said in a statement obtained by People on Wednesday.

“I am a Jewish woman who has no tolerance for antisemitism or hate speech of any kind,” she continued. “But I also firmly believe that the potential for hate speech multiplied by AI is a far greater threat than any one person who takes accountability for it.”

The actress feels it is important to call out the video, despite the good intentions, so the public doesn’t lose hold on reality.

“I have unfortunately been a very public victim of AI, but the truth is that the threat of AI affects each and every one of us,” she said. “There is a 1000-foot wave coming regarding AI that several progressive countries, not including the United States, have responded to in a responsible manner.”

Johansson admitted she finds it “terrifying” that the US government is “paralysed” over passing legislation that protects citizens against “the imminent dangers of AI.”

“I urge the US government to make the passing of legislation limiting AI use a top priority; it is a bipartisan issue that enormously affects the immediate future of humanity at large,” she concluded.

Several Jewish advocates have also denounced the viral video, explaining that the clip does more harm than good.

“I’m not posting it. The very fact that we have to use AI to show that Jewish celebrities stand with us in the fight is embarrassing,” Cindy Gaf wrote in a statement on Wednesday.

“The fact that we have to go to those lengths shows how in desperate need we are for famous Jewish voices to enter the chat. It’s cringe.”

Jewish comedian Zach Sage Fox agreed, writing, “Honestly I don’t think we should be posting it”.

“Almost all these ‘Jewish’ stars have been SILENT since 10/7 and even NOW as we’re seeing literal neo Holocaust images of TORTURED and STARVED Jews returning from Gaza,” he said of the three Israeli hostages released this weekend who were emaciated after being starved and tortured for 16 months in Hamas captivity.

“This video is a lie and most of these guys don’t deserve a drop of credit for fighting Jew hate,” he added, noting that Seinfeld, David Schwimmer and Sacha Baron Cohen were the exceptions.

The AI video was in response to West selling Swastika shirts on his Yeezy website and promoting the hateful garb in a commercial shown during Super Bowl 2025.

He also went on several antisemitic tirades in the days leading up to the offensive T-shirt drop in which he proclaimed his love for Adolf Hitler and declared that he is a Nazi.

“Some of my best friends are Jewish and I don’t trust any of them,” West wrote on X.

“Any Jewish [person] that does business with me needs to know I don’t like or trust any Jewish person amd [sic] this is completely sober with no Hennesy [sic].”

West first showed signs of antisemitism in 2022 when he wrote on X that he was going to go “death con 3 on JEWISH PEOPLE,” and he was subsequently dropped by Gap, Balenciaga and Adidas.

Ye issued an apology in 2023 but has since doubled down on his hateful comments multiple times.
