The first trailer for Prince Harry’s long-awaited Netflix docu-series, Heart of Invictus, has been released.

The five-episode series – produced through the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s company, Archewell Productions – focuses on the Invictus Games, the international sporting event for wounded, injured and sick veterans and members of the armed services, which was co-founded by Harry.

Heart of Invictus will showcase several athletes’ inspirational backgrounds and tell the stories of their path to the Games, while also giving a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into producing the tournament.

In the first trailer, Harry can be heard speaking to the participants, telling them: “It is here at the Invictus Games that you release: Whatever you carry, it is the springboard to the next level.”

As well as appearing on screen, Harry serves as an executive producer on the series, which will be release on Netflix on August 30.

“Our Invictus Games community represents some of the bravest and most dedicated individuals from 23 nations across the globe,” he said in a statement.

“Heart of Invictus is the incredible story of competitors brought together through service, who are now united through sport.

“While in various stages of recovery from both visible and invisible injuries, these competitors and their loved ones give a compelling look at their journey to the Invictus Games, in a way that commands admiration and respect.”

Heart of Invictus was directed by Orlando von Einsiedel, winner of the Oscar for Best Documentary Short in 2017 for The White Helmets.

In just a matter of weeks, Harry and Meghan will be heading to Europe for the next Invictus Games, which is being held in Dusseldorf, Germany from September 9 until the 16th.

Meanwhile, the new trailer for Harry’s series follows news he and Meghan are set to adapt a best-selling book into a Hollywood film in their first major deal since the axing of their Spotify agreement.

Page Six reports that Netflix footed the bill, with the couple’s production company chosen to produce it.

The couple’s debut off-camera project for the streaming service marks a significant shift in direction from their previous personal documentaries – including the documentaries Harry & Meghan, Live to Lead, and Heart of Invictus.
