Prince Harry still ‘has not been told’ where he’ll sit at coronation

We’re in the final countdown to the big day, but despite Harry’s requests, Buckingham Palace has refused to confirm a major detail about the coronation.

With just over a week to go until the coronation, Prince Harry is reportedly still in the dark about where he’ll be seated for the historic event.

According to Page Six, despite the Duke of Sussex’s requests for seating information ahead of his decision to attend, Buckingham Palace has so far not shared any details with him.

Earlier this week, Princess Diana’s former butler Paul Burrell – who was accused by Harry and Prince William of “betraying” their mother by publishing her private letters – claimed he was likely to be stuck in the “10th row” for the May 6 ceremony at Westminster Abbey.

“Harry has not been told where he’s sitting yet, but I highly doubt that [it’s as far back as the 10th row],” the source hit back to Page Six.

“Harry’s going to show up to support his dad. All I know is that it’s a stretch to ask much more for him … he doesn’t have any sort of agenda other than just getting in and getting out.”

It was confirmed earlier this month that Harry would be attending the May 6 event alone, with his wife, Meghan Markle, remaining at home in California with their two young children Prince Archie, 3, and Princess Lilibet, 1.

Around the time Harry’s belated coronation RSVP was announced by the palace, sources claimed the delay had been due to his being “preoccupied” by where he’d be sitting inside the famous church.

According to the Daily Mail, his team had been asking “a lot of questions” about where he – and the rest of his family – would be sitting for the historic event.

“Harry’s side was keen to find out, presumably because they wanted to rubberstamp it, what the seating plan at the Abbey is. There’s been extensive back and forth about who they [Harry and Meghan] would be sitting behind if they came. And who would be behind them,” a royal insider told the publication.

Another added: “This is true. There have been a lot of questions on detail for the Abbey.”

When Harry and Megan attended Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee last year in the UK, they were seated far apart from Charles, Camilla, William and Kate.

For the Queen’s funeral in September at the Abbey, they were seated in the second row behind William and his wife, Kate Middleton.

In their Netflix docuseries, released in December, Harry and Meghan spoke candidly about the “cold” reception they received from his family during their last official event before leaving royal life in the UK.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex revealed how tense it felt at the annual Commonwealth Day Service at Westminster Abbey in March 2020 – which marked the first time they’d seen the rest of his family in months.

“We were nervous seeing the family because [of] all the TV cameras and everybody watching at home and everybody watching in the audience,” said Meghan in the Netflix series.

“It’s like living through a soap opera where everybody else views you as entertainment.”

Harry added: “I felt really distant from the rest of my family, which was interesting because so much of how they operate is about what it looks like, rather than what it feels like. And it looked cold, but it also felt cold.”
