Meghan Markle vanishes from official Invictus Games schedule

Meghan Markle was set to speak at the Invictus Games, but her name has mysteriously been removed from the official program at the last minute.

Meghan Markle’s name has reportedly been removed from the official Invictus Games schedule, sparking confusion among royal watchers.

The Duchess of Sussex, 42, is expected to join her husband Prince Harry in Dusseldorf, Germany some time next week, several days after the event officially kicks off on September 9.

Meghan was initially scheduled to host a segment alongside German TV presenter Hadnet Tesfai at the closing ceremony on September 16, the Times of Londonreported in August.

But that information, according to German press, has since been deleted from the official Invictus Games website, with only Tesfai listed as host.

It comes amid swirling reports around the state of the Sussexes marriage, with the parents-of-two having been embroiled by rumours they’ve been taking a “break”.

Most recently, the couple was spotted in a box at Beyonce’s Los Angeles concert at the weekend, with commentators pointing out how Harry appeared “sour” while Meghan danced the night away.

Further, Meghan won’t be joining Harry in London on Thursday, local time, where the Duke of Sussex is scheduled to attend the WellChild Awards, which also happens to be the eve of the anniversary of the Queen’s death.

Meghan, who hasn’t been to London since the Queen’s funeral, had previously attended the WellChild event with her husband in 2018 and 2019.

It comes after reports emerged in late August that Harry was eager to meet with King Charles and Prince William for “peace talks”, with Harry expected to stop over again in the UK on September 17 on his way home to the US.

But according to US website the Daily Beast, Charles and William were against the idea.

“Charles won’t be seeing Harry and nor will William. No chance. He feels utterly betrayed by what Harry wrote about him in the book and said about him on Netflix,” a source close to the Prince of Wales told the publication.

Harry hasn’t seen since his father since the coronation in May, and even then, it was reported he spent no time with Charles or his brother Prince William during the brief trip.

Harry founded the Invictus Games for injured servicemen and women in 2014.
