Princess Kate 'one of the best' at communicating and engaging with the public

The Princess of Wales has opened up to a group of teenagers about her life, saying she is still learning about her royal role “every day”.

Princess Catherine told girls from St Katherine’s School in Bristol about her own vulnerabilities in a visit to mark Mental Health Awareness Week.

According to those present, the Princess, wearing a bright yellow LK Bennett jacket with white trousers and trainers, made candid comments away from the cameras.

She told students she had never thought about becoming a royal until she fell in love with Prince William, the Mail Online reports.

Dame Kelly praised the Princess of Wales for her open response to the teens, who asked her about royal life, the Mail Online reports.

“Was it something that she wanted to do? And she said she had to learn. It’s a struggle to know that you can be accepted and fit in and you are still learning every day.

“Doing public speaking isn’t a natural thing for lots of people is it? And she was saying she is still working that out but has to project. So you know again, she humanised everything. Not everyone is perfect.’.”

The Princess also went to the Percy Community Centre in Bath to see the work of the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust, a charity set up by the double Olympic champion in 2008.

The charity uses sports stars as mentors to support young people to find the skills and confidence they need to succeed in education, work and life.

The Princess took part in a giant game of noughts and crosses with Dame Kelly during her visit, with the famously competitive royal coming second.

Photos showed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex leaving the Michelin star Sushi Bar, not far from their 16-bedroom mansion in the exclusive suburb of Montecito.

The couple smiled and appeared relaxed as they left the eatery surrounded by private security to make their way to a waiting SUV.

According to the New York Post, they dined with A-lister Gwyneth Paltrow and her husband, TV producer Brad Falchuk, Cameron Diaz and her husband, Benji Madden.

The CEO and founder of dating site Bumble, Whitney Wolf Herd, and her husband, Texas oil heir Michael Herd, were also at the dinner.
