Meghan Markle wore jewellery estimated at nearly $300,000 worth – including a prized piece from Princess Diana’s collection – when she went hiking in Los Angeles hours after missing King Charles’ coronation.
Dressed in all-black athletic wear, sunglasses, a scarf and wide-brimmed hat, it’s the first time the 41-year-old was seen publicly since King Charles’s coronation on Saturday.
She added touches of glamour to the sporty outfit by teaming it up with her late mother-in-law Diana’s Cartier wristwatch, estimated at 17,800 pounds ($A33,000).
She also wore another Diana piece, a Cartier tennis bracelet, said to have a resale price of $125,000 ($A233,000).
In an apparent nod to King Charles, Ms Markle added a Bentley & Skinner diamond tennis bracelet believed to be a gift from the monarch worth at least 4900 pounds ($A9118).
And if that’s not enough, she also wore a Jennifer Meyer Gold Mini Bezel tennis bracelet worth 3965 pounds ($A7376), a 5000 pound ($A9300) Cartier Love bracelet and a 390 pound ($725) May Brenner x Abigail Spencer necklace.
The ‘The Clarity Retreat’ necklace is part of a collection made by her friend and former Suits colleague Abigail Spencer and includes a hand-cut crystal wrapped in a 14k gold band with 2.5mm diamond.
Made with a hand-cut clear quartz, the crystal is regarded as the most powerful energy amplifier on the planet!
The Duchess of Sussex looked relaxed as she was photographed with her long time friends Markus Anderson and Heather Dorak not far from her Montecito mansion.
Ms Markle has known Anderson and Dorak for several years.
Anderson holds a senior position at the Soho House private members’ club and has known Ms Markle since she was based in Toronto, Canada, filming TV show ‘Suits’.
He is also responsible for introducing her and Prince Harry.
Meanwhile, Dorak has been Ms Markle’s pilates and yoga instructor for several years and the pair often featured on the royal’s social media before she took down her accounts.
While husband Prince Harry made a whirlwind visit to the UK for this father’s big day, Ms Markle opted to stay in the US and celebrate her son Archie’s fourth birthday — which fell on the same day as the coronation.
The mother-of-two held a “private celebration” with a homemade birthday cake made with fruits from their California garden, according to The Daily Mail.
Archie’s grandmother Doria Ragland was thought to have attended along with make-up artist Victoria Jackson and some of their celebrity neighbours.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry didn’t waste anytime jetting out of London, heading back to his
Montecito mansion on a commercial flight before King Charles and Camilla had even left Westminster Abbey.
Across the Atlantic, meanwhile, King Charles III was said to have raised a glass to his absent grandson during a private gathering at Buckingham Palace after the public coronation events had ended.
The King seemed “genuinely quite disappointed” that Prince Harry didn’t stay for the post-coronation family gathering, according to the Mail, but he made a point of toasting “those that weren’t there” and wishing Archie a happy birthday “wherever he was”.
“It was apparently a very sweet moment,” the source said.
