‘It’s wild’: Meghan Markle breaks silence on Netflix, next shows

Meghan Markle appeared on a star-studded red carpet, alongside Aussie actress Margot Robbie, where she revealed more about her Netflix success and what’s coming.

Meghan Markle returned to the red carpet to spruik her “wild” success on Netflix and reveal what’s next for her and Prince Harry.

Speaking at a “Power of Women” event in Los Angeles, where she was honoured last year, Ms Markle said the Sussex content production machine has “so many exciting” projects aimed at eliciting an emotional response.

“Things that make people feel — I was going say ‘good,’ but it’s more than that, things that make people feel something, right?” she said on the Variety red carpet.

“And feel a sense of community. But we have so many exciting things on the slate. I can’t wait until we can announce them, but I’m just really proud of what we’re creating. My husband is loving it, too. It’s really fun.”

The Duke and Duchess have released three projects on the streaming giant, the self-referential Harry & Meghan, the documentary Heart of Invictus, and the docuseries Live to Lead.

Ms Markle has also had an unexpected career resurgence in Suits, which she stared in for seven seasons from 2011 before she got engaged to Prince Harry in 2018. It ran for two more seasons without her before ending in 2019.

“Isn’t it wild,” she said of the 45 billion minutes of the series binged since the show began streaming. “Is that right? I didn’t know that. But who’s counting.”

“I have no idea,” she said of the renewed popularity. “It was great to work on, such a great cast and crew. We had a really fun time. I was on it for seven seasons, so quite a bit.

“But it’s hard to find a show you can binge-watch that many episodes of these days, so that could have something to do with it. But good shows are everlasting.”

Prince Harry remained with the kids, Archie and Lilibet, as Ms Markle stepped back into the limelight in a camel Proenza Schouler dress and Aquazzura heels.

Also in attendance was Australian star Margot Robbie, hot off the success of Barbie, as well as Ms Markle’s bestie, Oprah Winfrey.
