Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian have quietly deleted pictures they took with Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, from the famous momager’s glitzy 70th birthday party over the weekend.

The royal couple had initially featured in carousel albums on both Jenner and Kardashian’s Instagram accounts, but as of Tuesday morning, LA time, those photos appeared to have been removed.

Jenner’s birthday party was quite possibly the most star-studded event in Hollywood history, attracting showbiz’s biggest names, tech and business moguls – and even royalty in the form of Harry and Meghan.

Five years after quitting their work with the monarchy and moving to the celebrity enclave of Montecito, California, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have certainly happily embedded themselves in their exclusive community – but there was one guest at Jenner’s bash which may have provided a fair bit of awkwardness: billionaire Meta CEO, Mark Zuckerberg.

The couple are long-time advocates for digital accountability and extra regulation for social media, and publicly slammed the tech mogul for his company’s decision to scrap its fact-checking policies across Facebook and Instagram earlier this year.

In a statement released via their Archewell Foundation, Harry and Meghan denounced the move as a dangerous backwards step.

“Whether your views are left, right, or somewhere in between, Meta’s decision undermines free speech,” the Sussexes wrote.

“Allowing abuse and normalising hate speech silences expression rather than fostering it. This choice, driven by ego or profit, is both reckless and deeply troubling.”

They’ve also each spoken about the dangers of social media in its current format, with Meghan outlining the issues during a World Health Day panel in 2023 for The Parents Network, an initiative which supports parents whose children have been impacted or died after negative online experiences.

“By design, it promises connection and community,” the duchess said.

“But somewhere along the way, that promise devolved.”

At the Clinton Global Initiative in NYC, Harry also called out the harmful impacts of social media on children, urging parents and social media company shareholders to demand action.

“Some say kids will be kids and that may well be true. Kids may get into trouble. I know a thing or two about that,” he said.

“But our kids are being targeted. The harmful effects of social media are made by design. “While we involve both youth and parents, we must also hold digital platforms accountable.”

In the since-deleted pictures posted by Jenner from the black tie 007-themed event at the weekend, hosted by Amazon boss Jeff Bezos at his sprawling Beverly Hills mansion, Harry and Meghan could be seen posing alongside the Kardashian matriarch in their glitzy surroundings.

In a separate image from her Instagram album, Jenner smiled alongside Zuckerberg and some of her other close pals.

Also in attendance were Jenner’s five daughters, Oprah Winfrey, Beyonce and her mum, Tina Knowles, Justin Bieber, Mariah Carey, Vin Diesel, Adele Ryan Murphy and Tyler Perry – who is also godfather to Harry and Meghan’s four-year-old daughter, Princess Lilibet.

Further confirming her Hollywood embed was Meghan’s recent and surprise return to her acting roots, eight years after she left Suits ahead of her royal wedding.

It was revealed last week that she was performing a cameo role in upcoming romantic comedy Close Personal Friends, being made by the Bezos-owned Amazon MGM, which also stars Brie Larson and Lily Collins.

She was pictured on the set in Pasadena on November 5, with an insider later spilling details from the day with People magazine.

“She introduced herself as ‘Meghan.’ Everything about her was very sweet and calm,” the source said.

“She genuinely seemed excited to be on set. She was joking that she felt a bit rusty, but it was obvious that she had rehearsed and that it was a big deal for her to be back. And she was great.”

“She had a very warm energy, too. She was super pleasant to be around.”
