Staff at a Sydney tattoo parlour were given the surprise of their lives when superstar couple Rita Ora and Taika Waititi walked into the store yesterday.

The British singer and her New Zealand director husband casually arrived at the Rising Tide Tattoo Studio in the inner-city suburb of Chippendale to get inked matching tattoos.

“Today was a great day, I got to tattoo some amazing people. Maybe you’ve heard of them?” tattoo artist Scott wrote alongside photos of him with the couple on Facebook.

Scott also shared a video on the store’s Facebook account, which showed the couple choosing a tiny croissant and smiley face for their new artwork.

Ora, 32, and Waititi, 47, were first linked in May 2021 when they were photographed cosying up to each other on a balcony at a Sydney, where Thor: Love and Thunder was filmed.

However, the pair were very secretive about their relationship, never confirming or denying their relationship status. They sparked marriage rumours last August, but it wasn’t until this January that the singer confirmed they tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in her London hometown.

“Yes … I am officially off the market,” she announced during an interview on UK’s Heart Breakfast radio program.

“I wanted to do a wedding that didn’t really go to plan … but that’s not to say that’s what actually happened. It was just exactly, exactly how I wanted it. It was just nice and perfect, completely how I wanted it … Sorry, it’s not that interesting. One day we’ll throw a big party.”

The newlyweds recently fronted the cover of Vogue Australia, posing for their first joint photo shoot as they openly discussed their marriage for the first time, and how they make it work with their busy schedules.

“That’s the thing about marriage and relationships, it’s about finding that person you want to hang out with and making sure you actually do that,” Taika said.

Ora added: “It’s about sacrificing certain things and making time for one another, especially when there’s two busy people in the relationship … If you really care about someone you will figure it out.”
