Rebel Wilson claims the ‘truth will come out’ as she releases her memoir

Aussie actress Rebel Wilson has claimed several women have come forward since her explosive memoir that alleged inappropriate behaviour.

Rebel Wilson’s tell-all memoir delayed in Australia

Rebel Wilson has vowed the “truth will come out” and has claimed she has been contacted by other women since she made inappropriate behaviour claims against Hollywood star Sacha Baron Cohen.

Wilson, 44, made the comments after she claimed her autobiography Rebel Rising had been delayed due to Baron Cohen.

“What’s been comforting is like, several women have now been in contact and it’s up to them whether they want to go public with their stories,” Wilson told The Sun.

“Because it is hard to say something against somebody who’s high profile, because they hit you with high-price lawyers and crisis PR people,” the Bridesmaid star.

“It doesn’t feel great when all I’m doing is sharing my story in my memoir, which I’m very entitled to do.

“But I always think that the truth will come out which is why it’s great to have the book out now so people don’t just read the headlines — but can read the actual chapter.”

It is not suggested the women Wilson claims have come forward have made similar allegations against Baron Cohen that she has.

He has vigorously denied all the claims.

A spokesman for Baron Cohen said: “While we appreciate the importance of speaking out, these demonstrably false claims are directly contradicted by extensive detailed evidence, including contemporaneous documents, film footage, and eyewitness accounts from those present before, during and after the production of Grimsby.”

Wilson said not everyone was going to like what was written in an autobiography.

“When you write your truth, not everyone is going to like it.

“And when someone is an a**hole I kind of expected that he would come out and fiercely deny it, which is so weird when you’ve been there. Like you know, it’s happened,” The Sun reported her saying.

“And then yeah, it was just a very odd reaction to have that,” she said.

It comes as Baron Cohen and his wife, Australian actor Isla Fisher, announced their divorce after 13 years of marriage.

The pair confirmed the news in separate posts with pictures of them in tennis gear.

“After a long tennis match lasting over twenty years, we are finally putting our racquets down,” the posts read.

“In 2023 we jointly filed to end our marriage. We have always prioritised our privacy, and have been quietly working through this change.

“We forever share in our devotion and love for our children. We sincerely appreciate your respecting our family’s wish for privacy.”

According to The Sun, a source has allegedly now said Wilson’s book was “a catalyst” for Fisher to publicly reveal they had ended their marriage.

The source told The Sun: “Rebel’s book was a catalyst in Isla deciding to announce this to the world.

“She’s got her own career and reputation to worry about.

“Those close to her said it was starting to get embarrassing with all of the allegations that were spilling out of Rebel’s book.

“So she felt as though it was the right thing to do to inform everyone of their decision.

“Sacha, on the other hand did not want that.

“He has been making as though it’s business as usual before they made this announcement.”

Baron Cohen or Fisher have not officially confirmed the allegation about Wilson’s memoir being linked to their split in any way.
