Radio host Belle Jackson in tears after Andy Lee uncovers her childhood crush in on-air prank

The Nova host was mortified to learn Andy Lee had discovered her childhood shrine she made for him and Hamish Blake when fangirling as a teenager.

After being on TV and radio for many years, Andy Lee has undoubtedly collected a number of fans along the way. But who knew his biggest was a fellow radio host?

As it turns out, Belle Jackson, who co-hosts theBen, Liam & Belleshow on Nova FM in Melbourne, was such a big fan of Lee and his sidekick Hamish Blake as a teenager that her childhood room was basically a shrine dedicated to him – and The Hundred with Andy Lee host witnessed the extent of her fandom in person this week.

“I apologise to Andy for having to experience the inner workings of an ex fangirl but…. Imitation is the highest form of flattery right!?” she tells news.com.au. “At least I’ve gotten a career out of my love for them.”

It all kicked off this week when co-hosts, Ben Harvey and Liam Stepleton, thought it would be funny to prank her by inviting Lee to her old bedroom at her parent’s house to see all the posters and memorabilia she had collected in her youth.

“Belle, could you imagine if Hamish or Andy actually saw your bedroom?” Harvey asked her on air. “We went to your house yesterday and showed Andy your bedroom.”

A mortified Jackson started crying from humiliation after she was shown photo evidence of Lee inside her room.

“Oh my god, what the hell?! Is that photoshopped? Oh my god!” she said.

Stepleton assured her it wasn’t a doctored pic and Lee was, in fact, inside her childhood house.

“In the photo he was smiling but 95 per cent of the time he wasn’t smiling. He was genuinely pretty creeped out,” he said.

Jackson’s tears soon dried up as she accepted the prank, albeit reluctantly.

“I hate you so much, f**k you guys,” she conceded.

As for Lee, he couldn’t believe the time and dedication it took to deck out a room with all the whistles.

“Holy moly, it’s got the cutout lettering, which is normally reserved for serial killers,” he said in a video shared on the Ben, Liam & Belle official Instagram account. “I feel like I’ve had too much. There’s only so much of myself I can handle.”
