MADONNA likes to control her own image but has no problems posting embarrassing snaps of her rebellious son for her millions of followers.
Whether it’s a picture of 15-year-old Rocco Ritchie in pigtails or a video of him doing a backflip into a pool with the caption, “Rocco’s preferred profile #nosausage,” some speculate that Madge’s oversharing has sparked the rift that landed in Manhattan Supreme Court last week.
The teenager has spent the past few months traversing the globe on his mum’s Rebel Heart Tour before running away this month to his director dad’s London home.
The singer, who has 5.5 million Instagram followers, convinced a judge to force Rocco to spend Christmas in New York with her, but Rocco refused the order.
The two both made waves on Instagram late last week, with Madonna posting a picture of herself and Rocco with the message“Merry X-mas to the Sun-shine of my Life!”and Rocco telling a friend he was staying in London before blocking his account from public view.
In September the mother of four put a picture on Instagram of Rocco with his long blond hair up in buns and with sunglasses on. The #nosausage shot was in May, with the teen wearing an orange swimsuit.
True to form, Madonna posted pictures of her kids on Instagram on Christmas — but not Rocco.
Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Deborah Kaplan ruled that Rocco — who spent Christmas with dad Guy Ritchie, Ritchie’s new wife, Jacqui Ainsley, and the couple’s three young kids — must return to New York to face his mother.
There is also a pending court proceeding in the United Kingdom, where Rocco has his own lawyer. Madonna and Ritchie split in 2008.
