Australian comedian and TV presenter Julia Morris has appealed for advice from her friends and fans, revealing she’s suffering from the debilitating condition vertigo.

I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! host Morris, 55, posted a selfie to her Instagram account overnight, showing her looking under the weather as she lay in bed in her PJs.

“Vertigo … any thoughts?” she captioned the picture.

Vertigo is a type of dizziness in which the person experiencing symptoms can feel like the room is spinning or they are unbalanced. According to Health Direct, one common cause for the condition is benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, an inner ear disorder which affects a person’s centre of balance.

Several of Morris’ famous friends responded to the post, offering advice and remedies that have worked for them.

“I’ve had it when on tour,” wrote British comedy legend Dawn French.

“Mine is related to the stage lighting. Sets m’brain off fizzin’ like a volcano. Try to diffuse the lighting maybe? And have an object that is lit in the darkness of the auditorium which your eyes can latch on to for focus. Good luck qweeeen.”

After one follower encouraged Morris to book an appointment with a physiotherapist, comedian Nikki Osborne spoke up with her experience of the condition.

“I suffer with it too. I’ve fallen off chairs – people think I’m a drunk! I second the vestibular physio. Don’t look up or down. Get up really slowly. Stop caffeine and alcohol for a lil bit,” she wrote.

“Poor thing … physio or osteopath are the best for this,” wrote actress Colette Mann.

Home And Away star Lynne McGranger encouraged Morris to contact her.

“DM me – I have the BEST remedy. Works every time.”

Let’s hope Morris feels better soon – she’s just one week away from starting a national comedy tour. The 13-date tour is set to kick off on the Gold Coast on June 1, before shows around Australia.

Morris’ health issue comes after an emotional end to the latest season of I’m A Celeb, with her longtime co-host Dr Chris Brown bowing out of the show – and the Ten network – to take up new opportunities at rival network Seven.

Brown’s defection was announced before the season started, making for more than a few jokes at his expense as I’m A Celeb aired, but by the show’s final days, reality had set in for Morris, who spoke candidly to news.com.au at her sadness to be losing her co-host of the past nine seasons.

“I’m just sad in my heart,” she confessed to us last month, days before Brown’s on-screen farewell.

“I think I’m still in shock, and in a very healthy way, I’ve decided to completely ignore it in my brain. This series has felt even more fun than usual, so I’m just not allowing my brain to click over to the fact it won’t be in this incarnation anymore.”
