The rock star climbed the Empire State Building to announce his tour, and he appears to be setting his sights to Sydney for his next stunt.

Jared Leto has insisted he would climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge without a harness - that is, if the NSW government would let him.

The US actor and musician, who is an avid climber, made headlines in November when he announced his band Thirty Seconds to Mars’ world tour by climbing New York’s Empire State Building.

With the group set to head to Australia this month for shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, Leto told KIIS FM’s The Night Show with Mitch Churihe’d consider Sydney’s iconic landmark as the base of his next stunt... on one condition.

“I would do the Harbour Bridge but honestly, it’s a little too safe for me,” Leto began.

“I’d want to do something a little bit further on the edge.

“If they’d let me climb it without a rope, I would do it. Without being harnessed in, because I’m sure everyone’s harnessed in right?”

Leto, 52, then urged Aussie fans to message him on social media with ideas.

“I’m down to do something [in Australia],” he said.

“I’d love to come and climb something out there. If anybody has any ideas, DM (direct message) me.”

It’s somewhat understandable the House of Gucci actor would need to up the ante to approach the Harbour Bridge, which stands at 134 metres tall.

His Empire State Building stunt, which he pulled off while harnessed, saw Leto climb the iconic landmark which stands at a death-defying 443 metres.

Meanwhile, Thirty Seconds to Mars are bringing their Seasons 2024 tour down under in a matter of days, kicking off at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on September 12.

They’ll then host a concert at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena on September 14, before finishing at Brisbane’s Riverstage on September 17.

Thirty Seconds to Mars was first formed in 1998.

The line-up has undergone various changes over the years, but frontman Leto and his brother, drummer Shannon Leto, have been consistent members since the start.

The tour marks the band’s first headline tour in more than five years.

At the time of their announcement, they also made a triumphant return to the charts with the release of their sixth studio album, It’s The End Of The World But It’s A Beautiful Day.
