Hugh Jackman undergoes two more biopsies after another skin cancer scare

The Aussie actor urges fans to get their skin checked regularly as he undergoes two more biopsies.

Hugh Jackman Announces Cancer Scare

Hugh Jackman has undergone two more biopsies after experiencing yet another skin cancer scare.

The Aussie actor sported a bandaged nose in a video he posted to Instagram as he highlighted the importance of visiting a dermatologist and getting regular checks.

“I know you’ve heard me talk about my basal cell carcinomas before. I’m going to keep talking about them, if need be,” he said, referring to the technical term for the most common type of skin cancer.

“And if it reminds even one person to put on sunscreen with a high SPF, then I’m happy.”

In the clip, the 54-year-old revealed doctors carried out two more biopsies on him and he will be told of the results in the coming days.

The Wolverine star is no stranger to the procedure.

Back in 2017, he had six skin cancers removed from his face within a two-year period, and he once again underwent a biopsie in 2021.

“I just had two biopsies done. I just went to my doctor, Dr Iron, who’s awesome. I’ll find out in two or three days and as soon as I know, I’ll let you know,” he shared in today’s video.

Jackman also urged fans to wear sunscreen when outdoors – a practice he wished he followed religiously when he was younger and growing up under the harsh Aussie sun.

“Please wear sunscreen. It is just not worth it,” he said in the video. “No matter how much you want to tan, trust me, trust me, trust me. Put some sunscreen on. You’ll still have an incredible time out there, alright? Please be safe.”

The actor issued a similar plea in 2021 after another check-up, which ended with the star rocking a medical bandage on his ear.

“OK guys, I recommend getting a skin check. Regularly,” he said in that video shared on Instagram. “I know I’ve said it before, I know I may be boring you with this but it’s super easy to do and it’s really, really important to be pre-emptive with these things.

“So, if you’re like me and you didn’t really know any better when you were young, and you didn’t wear sunscreen, and you were in the Australian sun, then you need to get a check-up even more,” Jackman continued.

“I just had mine done, I just had a little biopsy, it’s pre-cancerous, it’s not much, but I’m really glad I went.”
