TAYLOR Swift has spoken about her “fragile” relationship with Harry Styles, admitting she always knew the romance was doomed to fail.
The 25-year-old pop star revealed that she felt a great deal of “anxiety” during her three-month fling with the One Direction band member.
In a new video released by the Grammy Museum on Wednesday, which is from her acoustic performance at the Clive Davis Theatre in Los Angeles on September 30, Tay Tay sits at a piano and openly discusses her former relationship with Styles, 21.
“I’m going to play you a song that I wrote about a relationship that I was in, that the number one feeling I felt in the whole relationship was anxiety,” she explains before performing a stripped-down version of Out of the Woods.
Without actually naming her ex, she adds: “Because it felt very fragile, it felt very tentative. And it always felt like, ‘Okay, what’s the next roadblock? What’s the next thing that’s gonna deter this? How long do we have before this turns into just an awful mess and we break up? Is it a month? Is it three days?’
“So this is a song that I wrote with Jack Antonoff [from the band Fun.] and it’s called Out Of the Woods.”
Swift and Styles started dating in November 2012, but quickly called it quits in January 2013.
Out of the Woods, released in October 2014, is rumoured to be about the 1D frontman.
The Shake It Off singer is currently dating Scottish DJ Calvin Harris.
