Sophie Falkiner announces engagement to partner Steve Wood

Media personality Sophie Falkiner has announced she’s getting married again, after her partner’s surprise proposal on a luxury holiday.

Australian media personality Sophie Falkiner has announced her engagement.

The TV presenter and model, 50, took to Instagram over the weekend to share her happy news, along with pictures of the moment her partner, Steve Wood, got down on one knee during their family holiday on the Whitsunday Islands.

“It’s official. Thank you for making me the happiest woman I’ve ever been. Your kindness, strength, thoughtfulness, integrity, and love blows me away,” Falkiner wrote.

“My family, children, and friends are all so excited to have you in their lives. As I am equally excited to become a member of your beautiful family.

“I love you, and I can’t wait to be your wife.”

Steve pops the question.

She said yes!

The happy couple were accompanied by friends and family on their luxury holiday, including Falkiner’s teenage children, Bella, 17, and Jack, 14, whom she shares with her ex-husband.

Sophie previously said she feels “very lucky” with her partner.

Falkiner has previously gushed over her partner, telling New Idea earlier this year that she was “in love”.

“He’s probably one of the kindest men I’ve ever met, and I feel very lucky. It’s relaxed, and he’s amazing with my kids,” she told the publication of Wood.

“He’s a solid, good man and he has a lot of character. I’m at a beautiful spot in my life right now, and I’m very grateful for it.”

The new chapter comes after Falkiner’s split from her first husband, former Nova executive Tony Thomas in 2015.

The couple’s decision to end their marriage of 14 years sent shockwaves through the media industry.

“With a heavy heart, CHIC Talent Management client Sophie Falkiner and radio executive Tony Thomas have announced their separation,” the pair said in an exclusive statement to news.com.au at the time.

“The high profile couple have enjoyed a long and happy 14 years of marriage, but both feel that journey has now reached its end.”
