Russell Crowe seems to have accidentally let it slip that Ed Sheeran is engaged to his girlfriend Cherry Seaborn

THE TWO celebs have spoken about their close friendship - which might be on the rocks after Russell Crowe seems to have let something slip.

ED SHEERAN is reportedly engaged to Cherry Seaborn, his friend Russell Crowe has seemingly let slip.

The Gladiator star described the singer’s hockey player girlfriend as his “fiancee” while discussing his surprisingly close friendship with the chart-topper on Nova’s Fitzy and Wippa, The Sun reports.

He said: “We became friends through people we know and he was on tour and came to stay. We just became friendly and he has since come back with his fiancee for more time and stuff.”

While Sheeran’s team has stayed quiet over Russell’s comment, the Oscar winner clearly is close to the star so it’s believable Ed may have confided in him about any big romantic news.

Crowe also told how he introduced Sheeran to a homemade alcoholic drink which avoids hangovers due to its high water content.

But the singer tried to make it himself one night — with disastrous results.

The actor said: “I saw Ed in London and he said, ‘Man, you got me in so much trouble’ recently. So he makes the drink — but he forgets all about the water.

“His security guy tells him, ‘Last night you took your shoes off in the restaurant and licked a woman’s face. I was like, ‘Ed, the principal message I was passing on was the hydration’.”
