Kevin Costner ‘had strong suspicions’ about ex-wife’s rumoured romance with neighbour

The Yellowstone actor was reportedly “suspicious” his now ex-wife had become romantically involved with their neighbour.

Kevin Costner had an inkling that his ex-wife Christine Baumgartner was romantically involved with their neighbour Josh Connor, according to a report.

The Yellowstone actor and the handbag designer, who share three kids, finally settled their bitter divorce in September.

Baumgartner has since moved on with Costner’s former friend, while Costner has reportedly started dating US singer Jewel Kilcher.

“Kevin had strong suspicions that something was going on between Christine and Josh,” a source told Us Weekly. “Their close [bond] was a real elephant in the room.”

The insider added that the pair’s relationship turned romantic “relatively recently,” especially given that the Field of Dreams star has seemingly moved on, too.

“Christine doesn’t think Kevin has anything to complain about,” the source added. “Josh has been Christine’s rock throughout the divorce ordeal. If Kevin has a problem with that, that’s on him.”

Page Six has reached out to Costner’s reps for comment.

Baumgartner and Connor first sparked romance rumours over the summer after the pair vacationed in Hawaii together amid her divorce battle.

However, Baumgartner and her lawyer denied in court that she was dating Connor after Costner claimed her new “boyfriend” had given her $US20,000 cash.

“They have been good friends for years,” an insider shared at the time.

Although the details of Costner and Baumgartner’s agreement remained sealed, sources said she’d walk away with more money than their prenup initially stated.

“Kevin and Christine Costner have come to an amicable and mutually agreed upon resolution of all issues pertaining to their divorce proceedings,” the exes shared in a joint statement to Page Six.

It comes as Costner celebrated his 69th birthday with a little bit of self-love by posting a throwback photo snapped decades ago.

The snap showed the McFarland, USA actor wearing a cowboy hat with a grin spread across his face.

“Celebrating another year of life today and taking a moment to honour this kid who had big dreams. It’s hard to believe how far we’ve come,” he captioned the Instagram post.

“Thank you all for the birthday wishes. It’s because of your support that I’ve been able to chase my dreams all these years.”
