The Australian ex-partner of JoJo Siwa has seemingly taken a swipe at the singer’s rumoured new romance with British TV personality, Chris Hughes.
Kath Ebbs, a content creator based in Sydney, appeared to savagely respond to a series of loved-up pics Siwa shared on Instagram in the wake of their bitter break-up last month.
In the photos, the Karma singer and Hughes, 32, pretty much hard-launched their relationship on the platform, with the pair unable to keep their hands off each other as they holidayed in Mexico for Siwa’s 22nd birthday.
Ebbs, who is non-binary and uses them/they pronouns, then took to social media in what appeared to be a subtle dig at Siwa’s romantic getaway.
“The only thing I have to say is LOL,” they captioned a photo themselves, mid-eye roll.
The new romance has got to sting given Ebbs previously revealed that Siwa had dumped them at the UK Celebrity Big Brother afterparty in London.
Siwa had appeared on the reality program alongside Hughes, and it was during their time in the house that the pair developed a connection, sparking romance rumours.
Taking to Instagram after the CBB finale, Ebbs opened up about being dumped after five months of dating, during which they relocated to the US to live with Siwa.
“Before I could even get back to the hotel I went to the afterparty with, I guess my now ex, crazy thing to say, and was dumped in the party,” they revealed.
“I was told that there are confused feelings there, do with that what you will.”
Ebbs latest post comes after they opened up about the split on the Inherited podcast, telling host Ruby Hall that they felt “abandoned” and “alone”.
In the days after their relationship imploded, Ebbs had posted a video about being blindsided by the break-up – video they now regret posting.
“I was really naive in that, if I’m gonna be honest,” Ebbs told Hall of the post. “I thought I’ll just say how I felt, say what’s happened, line in the sand. It’s done, we’re all gonna move on. That didn’t happen.”
Ebbs said Siwa’s fans would not leave her alone after the video and they struggled to block out the noise and get on with life.
“I literally was in one of the darkest places I think I’ve been in my adult life those two weeks,” they said. “Just feeling alone and abandoned and watching something that was really hurting my feelings but not knowing what was real, having people come after me.”
“I just thought if I just said my peace that everyone would leave me alone and it would just be over and I could just deal with it privately.
“I’ve never been a part of that world on such a public level, I was naive that it [online hate] would continue and still is right now continuing.”
