Charli XCX has announced she’s engaged to indie rocker George Daniel

A famous pop star has shocked fans by posting a nude photo on Instagram and revealing some big personal news.

In a case of worlds colliding, UK pop singer Charli XCX has announced she’s engaged to indie rocker George Daniel.

Daniel, 33, is the drummer for the band 1975 and has made a name for himself as a producer.

His whole thing is being aloof, tall, and above it all; meanwhile, Charli is a classic pop singer who is known for shamelessly promoting her music on social media, loving all things sparkly and being unashamedly mainstream.

Charli, 31, posted the engagement news on her Instagram to her 4.5 million followers.

“Charli XCX and George for f***ing life,” she wrote.

George’s bandmate Matty Healy commented, “I cry” in celebration of the sweet news, and Healy’s mum, television personality Denise Welch, added that she was “so happy” for the famous pair.

Singer Rita Ora commented and said she knew this would happen, and heiress Paris Hilton added some love heart emojis to the Instagram post.

In a classic aloof indie boy move, George hasn’t posted about the engagement on his social media.

The couple has kept things private, so some fans learned they were together via the ring announcement.

“Since when were they together?” one asked.

“No what the hell,” another commented.

“I’m screaming,” one fan claimed.

The musical pair have been so low-key that it is unclear how long they’ve been together, but they started working together on music in 2021.

Charli did open up about her relationship status in February, confirmed that she was “in love”, and said she’s ready for the next chapter.

“I want to be wifed up, I want to have a big fat belly with a baby in it,” she told The Sydney Morning Herald.

She also said she feels ready because she’s “so in love right now” and believes she’d be a “hot mum.”

The engagement news comes just after Charli sent her fans into overdrive by sharing a nude photo of herself on Instagram earlier in November.

She shared a series of photos in one post on Instagram and while in the caption, she complained that she’d been battling being sick and working so hard to create her next album.

Once you swiped, fans were treated to a nude photo of Charli that she’d uploaded among photos of her assumedly sick in bed.

“Naked,” someone commented.

“Charli’s nude era unlocked,” another observed.

“Yes!” Another cried.
