Drew Barrymore’s alleged stalker found outside her house days after rushing the stage

Just days after accosting Drew Barrymore on stage during a live event and forcing her to flee, the star’s alleged stalker has been “detained” outside her home.

Drew Barrymore‘s alleged stalker is reportedly stopping at nothing to have a conversation with the beloved actress. Days after allegedly accosting the star and Reneé Rapp at a live event, a man identified as Chad Michael Busto was “temporarily detained” outside of Barrymore’s New York residence.

A police officer told Entertainment Weekly that Busto was detained for a short period of time on Wednesday (August 23) after allegedly going door-to-door in Barrymore’s affluent Hamptons neighbourhood.

“It was reported to us that he was on the property — we did not see him on the property,” the officer said, before adding that they “located him in the vicinity” of Barrymore’s house after a member of her team made the call to authorities.

The man identified as Busto quickly made headlines earlier this week after rushing the stage during Barrymore’s conversation with Rapp at her 92nd Street Y event. While the 50 First Dates star welcomed him at first, Rapp promptly escorted her off the stage as he began to approach them.

“You know who I am. I need to see you at some point while you’re in New York,” Busto said, before being removed from the event by security guards.

The man was reportedly not arrested at the event — however, a Daily Beast report later uncovered a long string of criminal offences committed by someone who identifies as Chad Michael Busto.

It all started with a user named C. Michael Busto joined an online forum that discussed Amber Heard earlier this year. He was ultimately banned a month later for “sexual harassment,” “threats” and “stalking,” according to one of the forum’s administrators.

When the same administrator did some research into his name, they found that he had allegedly been arrested and charged with enticing a child for indecent purposes in 2012, arrested for indecent exposure in the ocean in 2017, and pleaded no contest to misdemeanour battery after launching a tirade on a Trader Joe’s employee who asked him to wear a mask in 2020.

A number of creepy social media posts made to an X (formerly known as Twitter) account under Busto’s name also unveiled his obsession with Heard. In the videos — in which he addresses the actress and her two-year-old daughter directly — he proposes marriage, claims he’s “working on” getting her phone number and apologises to her for missing her film premiere.
