Mary Poppins star Dick Van Dyke is about to turn 98 – but you wouldn’t guess it from watching this latest video of him.

He’s still got it.

Dick Van Dyke channelled his iconic chimney sweep dance from the 1964 film Mary Poppins days before his 98th birthday.

In a video shared on Christina Karlin’s Instagram page recently, the legendary movie star performed a few dance moves from the scene with his wooden cane in hand, reports Page Six.

Van Dyke looked dapper cutting a rug as he films his upcoming TV special Dick Van Dyke 98 Years of Magic, wearing a white button-up shirt and a grey suit.

“Celebrated this legend today,” Karlin wrote on the clip.

Last month, US network CBS announced that it would be celebrating Van Dyke’s forthcoming birthday (December 13) in a big way by taking a look back at his career, which has spanned over seven decades in film, television and stage.

The special “will travel back in time to the iconic set of The Dick Van Dyke Show and feature dazzling music and dance spectacles, heartfelt performances, special guests and a magical holiday number,” per a press release from the network.

The two-hour show will also feature archival footage and songs from the Grammy winner’s career, including Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Mary Poppins and Bye Bye Birdie.

“I started with CBS under contract in 1955 with the CBS morning show, then The Dick Van Dyke Show and Diagnosis Murder,” the Night at the Museum actor said in a statement at the time. “I’ve been with the CBS family for almost 70 years, and I couldn’t be prouder.”

“I’m incredibly honoured that CBS will be throwing a 98th birthday special for me,” he added. “Can’t wait to be part of the show!”

Van Dyke has been getting his flowers a lot more recently.

In November, the former Dick Van Dyke Show host made a rare appearance last month alongside his wife, Arlene Silver, as they attended the opening of his longtime photographer Laura Johansen’s exhibit, Moments in Time Portraits, at Malibu City Hall.

The exhibit honoured the past decade of Van Dyke’s life.
