Abbie Chatfield has broken down in tears in a lengthy social media tirade accusing activist Clementine Ford of “dehumanising” her.

The Sydney-based media personality, 29, a prominent influencer and Greens supporter, took to Instagram to respond to recent comments by Ford branding Chatfield a “f**king fake” over her political views, particularly on Palestine.

“Stop lying about my character and my intentions,” Chatfield said through tears in a video posted to her Instagram Stories.

“I get it enough from people on the right and trolls and men that hate me and want to threaten me and want me dead. Please stop dehumanising me. Please, you can criticise my content you can criticise my work just I’m begging you to stop lying about my intentions. Stop saying that I have a personality disorder. You don’t know me. This is so f**king triggering I just want her to stop.”

Chatfield continued the three-minute rant telling Ford to “also please when I post about Palestine stop using that as a reason to critique me more and say that I’m performative or whatever”.

“Please stop discouraging me from posting about Gaza,” she said.

“It isn’t working, you’re discouraging others and you’re encouraging trolling of me. Please, like, I’m just trying to do what I can to help. Like, I just don’t understand why she’s so adamant on proving that I’m awful. I don’t get it. This is so incredibly stressful and awful what she is doing and counterintuitive.”

Chatfield said she didn’t “know what the f**k to do because I’m aware now of someone spreading malicious lies about me again and again … because she claims to know my intentions on f**king everything”.

“It’s f**ked,” she said.

“I’m scared of her. Please stop, Clementine. I am begging you to stop. You don’t know me at all, you’re a stranger. I deal with so much, every single day. I deal with insults every single day, I do not need it from you because you know that when you say it you validate it [for] people on the left. And you are encouraging trolling, you are risking my safety and you are f**king my mental health. Please f**king stop.”

Ford, a feminist author and pro-Palestine activist who has been outspoken on the Israel-Gaza war, took aim at Chatfield last week on her TERF Wars podcast and on social media in the wake of the Greens electoral wipe-out.

“Abbie Chatfield is first and foremost all about Abbie Chatfield,” Ford wrote on Threads. What a f**king fake.”

Ford’s comment was in response to a re-shared post by actor and comedian Sarah Bartolo criticising Chatfield for her recent interview with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese before the election.

“You were so excited to interview a war criminal,” Bartolo wrote.

“Laughing and joking with a man complicit in genocide who has been sending Australian-made parts to Israel used to bomb children in tents. Slay girlie.”

In another post, Ford wrote that “no amount of fake crying to try to launder her complicity in doing PR for genocide supporters like [Anthony Albanese] can change that”.

“She is completely shallow and frequently unable to actually prosecute an argument she hasn’t cobbled together from uncredited sound bites gleaned from other people,” she said.

“This is why she fails time and time again to when challenged on her views — because she doesn’t actually know what she’s talking about half the time. She’s a smart self promoter and a deeply basic thinker.”

She wrote in another post, “And if you want to message me defending your weird parasocial obsession with a woman I can guarantee does not see you as her equal, please save your energy. I do not care if you think I’m a bad feminist for refusing to worship at the alter [sic] of an idiotic narcissist who cares first and foremost about herself and her own power.”

Chatfield, a former Bachelor star who now hosts the popular podcast It’s A Lot, which averages about 400,000 downloads per month, sat down for a 90-minute interview with Mr Albanese in February.

The pair discussed a range of issues including political strategy and voter engagement, climate change, women’s rights, Mr Albanese’s upcoming wedding, the war in the Middle East and Donald Trump.

Chatfield also interviewed since-ousted Greens leader Adam Bandt, and had encouraged her more than one million followers across Instagram and TikTok to put the Liberal Party last on ballot papers.
