Disturbing footage of star’s son at Hollywood hotspot

This musical A-lister has a strained relationship with her adult son – and now he’s been spotted looking worse for wear at a Hollywood hotspot.

Singer Cher’s adult son Elijah Blue Allman has been spotted in worrying footage, appearing disorientated outside the exclusive Hollywood hotel Chateau Marmont.

The dishevelled musician could be seen in standing unsteadily against a wall outside the hotel, his clothes tattered and stained as he stared off vacantly.

Allman, 48, is the son of Cher and the late rock star Greg Allman, who died in 2017.

In recent years, his fractious relationship with his mother has made headlines as Cher attempted to gain conservatorship over her troubled son’s affairs, including his finances.

Cher applied in 2023 for a conservatorship because she claimed Mr Allman could not properly take care of himself or “manage his own financial resources” because of his alleged struggles with drug abuse.

“Any funds distributed to Elijah will immediately be spent on drugs, leaving Elijah with no assets to provide for himself, and putting Elijah’s life at risk,” she wrote in documents proposing the conservatorship.

But Cher, who turns 79 this month, ended her attempts to gain control of her son’s finances in September last year.

“The team successfully defended Elijah, resulting in Cher voluntarily dismissing her petition,” Mr Allman’s lawyers told People magazine of the court outcome last September.

“This outcome allows the parties to focus on healing and rebuilding their family bond, a process that began during mediation and continues today.”

Cher’s also at odds with her son’s estranged wife.

Cher’s lawyers had previously stated that her son’s “current mental and physical health issues” leave him “unable to form or express a preference” concerning the appointment of a conservator for his estate.

Cher also claimed that Mr Allman’s estranged wife, Marieangela King, had been a destructive presence in her son’s life and is actively working against her efforts to give her son the help he needs with his addiction issues.

However, in a response to his mothers’ application, Mr Allman said while he had indeed “struggled with addiction and spent money in ways that have not always been the most responsible,” he was now “clean and sober”.
