Celebrities that managed to keep their children’s parents a secret

WHEN celebrities announce they’re having a baby, it’s often pretty easy to figure out who the other parent is — sometimes it’s not.

SOME celebrities don’t like to kiss and tell.

Last month, news broke that Mindy Kaling is pregnant with her first child, which sources described as “an unexpected surprise” for the actress.

The news also came as quite a shock to her fans. But the biggest mystery remains: who is the father?

And while the public is hoping to find out soon, Kaling may remain tight-lipped.

The 38-year-old funnywoman recently confirmed the news, saying she’s excited to be able to “openly criticise other parenting” since she will now have her own child — but didn’t reveal the identity of the dad.

These other celebrities have also tried to keep their partners’ names under wraps.

FIFI BOX

The Australian radio host used her own show to announce her pregnancy in November, 2012 but left a reasonably big detail out of her exciting news — who the father of her baby was.

Box stayed intensly tight-lipped on the identity of the father however a report from New Idearevealed the mystery man was Australian Ironman Champion and businessman Grant Kenny.

Box gave birth to Beatrix Belle in April, 2013 and despite years of speculation it wasn’t until 2016 that the radio host finally confirmed Kenny as the father.

In an Instagram post celebrating Trixie’s birthday, Box captioned a picture of Kenny and her daughter hugging captioning it, “Bouncing castle daddy cuddles”.

MINNIE DRIVER

Minnie Driver kept the identity of her son Henry’s father a secret for three years before finally spilling that it was producer Timothy J. Lea. The pair met while working on the TV series The Riches.

“We weren’t together and he wasn’t directly in the business, so I chose to protect him and not have a rain of publicity, she told The Guardian in 2012, adding, “I know, but it’s ridiculous. He’s not famous. There’s no big story.”

JANUARY JONES

January Jones welcomed her now 5-year-old son Xander Dane in 2011, but still hasn’t revealed who the father is.

In 2013, she told The Edit(via Daily Mail), “I knew I would be raising my son alone. It was something I went in to knowingly, I was prepared mentally — and I was excited about it.”

The Mad Men actress added that the identity of Xander’s dad was “not something the public needs to know.”

LENA HEADEY

In 2015, Lena Headey welcomed her second child, a baby girl.

“Hello peeps. All good. Just fallen in unconditional heartbreaking divine love for the second time,” she tweeted at the time.

Two years later she has yet to reveal the identity of Teddy’s father. Headey was previously married to Peter Loughran, but the duo split up in 2013. The two have been in a custody battle over their 7-year-old son Wylie.

MIA FARROW

The entire world thought Woody Allen was Ronan Farrow‘s father until 2013, when, in an interview with Vanity Fair, Mia Farrow said that Ronan was “possibly” Frank Sinatra’s biological child. Farrow was married to Sinatra from 1966 to 1968.

She began dating Allen in 1980 and welcomed Ronan in 1987. A DNA test hasn’t been done, but even Allen has commented that Ronan looks a lot like Sinatra. However, in 2015, a Sinatra biography said there was no way Sinatra could have been Ronan’s biological father because he was impotent and incapacitated by a stomach surgery around the time Ronan was conceived.

BEBE BUELL

Bebe Buell’s daughter Liv Tyler, didn’t find out that Aerosmith rocker Steven Tyler was her dad until she was 8 years old. Buell had a short relationship with Tyler and gave birth to Liv when she was with Todd Rundgren.

“I kind of figured it out because he looked exactly like me and I have a sister named Mia who is a year younger than me and I saw her standing on the side of the stage at a concert and I was literally like looking at my twin … and I looked at my mum and she had tears in her eyes and I kind of put it all together,” Liv said on theJonathan Ross Show in 2015.

PADMA LAKSHMI

Padma Lakshmi wasn’t entirely sure who the father of her daughter Krishna was when she first found out she was pregnant in 2009. In her memoir Love, Loss and What We Ate she wrote, “A question began to nag at my giddiness: not so much ‘How?’ but the far more uncomfortable ‘Who?’”

At the time she was dating the late IMG CEO Teddy Forstmann, who passed away in 2011, and Adam Dell. It was revealed to the public that Dell was the father when he took Lakshmi to court to fight for custody in 2011. The matter was settled earlier this year and the couple have since rekindled their romance.

CRISTIANO RONALDO

It’s not always women who keep their partners’ identities a secret. The mother of Cristiano Ronaldo‘s 7-year-old son, Cristiano Jr., has never been confirmed. The soccer star recently welcomed twins via surrogate and has another baby on the way with girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez.
