Abbie Chatfield has revealed she was forced to cancel an upcoming show on her live tour, The Trauma Dump Tour.
The metropolitan run of Chatfield’s speaking tour last year sold out completely, but unfortunately tickets for the new 13-stop regional show dates in October and November are not selling as well.
In an honest video shared on Instagram, the TV and media personality said she pulled the pin on her Port Macquarie show, scheduled for November 17, due to poor ticket sales.
“I have some really bad news for Port Macquarie and that is that we’ve had to cancel the show,” the host of BINGE’s FBoy Island Australia began in a video message shared on Instagram overnight.
“We had to make a decision yesterday with the numbers. It would actually cost me more to go to Port Macquarie... it would actually cost me money,” she continued.
“I’m really sorry we’ve had to cancel. I’m really upset obviously but you can get tickets for Newcastle even though that’s three hours away so yeah, I’m really sorry.”
Chatfield, 29, did not hide her disappointment over the lack of ticket sales before urging fans to buy tickets to her other shows, so she won’t have to cancel anymore gigs.
“I was hoping to get more tickets sales,” she admitted. “We didn’t sell enough tickets, so I have to cancel the Port Macquarie show.”
“If you’d like to please get tickets to other shows that would be amazing, but I’m having to decide which ones to cancel as time goes along, so I’m really sorry to everyone who bought tickets."
It was earlier this month that Chatfield announced she was preparing to take her live show regional with visits to Hobart, Canberra, Thirroul, Caloundra, Gold Coast, Warragul, Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo, Newcastle, Cairns, Darwin and the now-cancelled Port Macquarie.
“I’m so excited to continue the Trauma Dump Tour to the regional towns that I didn’t get to trauma dump on last year,” she said in a press release.
“I’m looking forward to hearing the regional town’s nightmare fuels as I’m sure they have some excellent tales to tell.”
