50 Cent producing Netflix documentary about rap rival Diddy

A documentary about Diddy’s spectacular fall from grace is in production at Netflix – and his rap rival 50 Cent is on board as executive producer.

A documentary about Sean “Diddy” Combs and his spectacular fall from grace is currently in production at Netflix – and would you believe the music mogul’s most vocal public critic is on board as executive producer.

50 Cent is behind the docuseries which explores the Bad Boy founder’s recent sex trafficking and racketeering charges as well as the sexual assault and abuse allegations made against him.

“This is a story with significant human impact. It is a complex narrative spanning decades, not just the headlines or clips seen so far,” 50 Cent and the doco’s director Alexandria Stapleton said in a statement to Variety.

“We remain steadfast in our commitment to give a voice to the voiceless and to present authentic and nuanced perspectives. While the allegations are disturbing, we urge all to remember that Sean Combs’ story is not the full story of hip-hop and its culture. We aim to ensure that individual actions do not overshadow the culture’s broader contributions.”

50 Cent – who is also an executive producer on the smash hit series Power and its spin-offs – was far less PC when he made the announcement on his social media on Thursday morning.

“I been telling y’all about all this weird s**t, I don’t do NO puffy party’s,” he wrote in the caption as he shared a screenshot of Variety’s article.

“You didn’t believe me but I bet you believe me now!”

50 Cent announced his involvement with the Netflix doco with this Instagram post.

It’s no secret that the In Da Club rapper is not a fan of Diddy. After the mogul was arrested last week on September 16 and charged with sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation to engage in prostitution, 50 Cent has trolled him mercilessly on social media.

When it was revealed it March that law enforcement had raided Diddy’s homes in Miami and LA, 50 Cent couldn’t help but take a jab at his rival.

“Now it’s not Diddy do it, it’s Diddy done. They don’t come like that unless they got a case,” he tweeted on X at the time.

Then this week, when it was made public that 1000 bottles of lubricant were found during those raids, 50 Cent couldn’t help but take a jab at his rival.

“Here I am keeping good company with @DrewBarrymoreTV and I don’t have 1,000 bottles of lube at the house,” he boldly captioned a photo of himself all smiles as he appeared on the actress’ talk show.

It’s believed the rappers’ beef can be traced back to 2006 when 50 Cent released his track The Bomb, in which he accused Diddy of knowing who shot the Notorious B.I.G., aka Biggie Smalls.

Diddy was with Biggy when he was killed aged 24 in a drive-by shooting back in 1997. Although Diddy was travelling in another vehicle at the time, 50 Cent is adamant he knows the identity of the shooter.

“Who shot Biggie Smalls? We don’t get ‘em. They gonna kill us all,” 50 Cent raps. “Man, Puffy know who hit that n***a.”

As for Diddy, he says he has nothing but love for his nemesis.

“I don’t have no beef with Fif. He loves me,” Combs said when asked about their supposed feud during an appearance on The Breakfast Club in 2018.

“Y’all can’t see that he loves me? You really think that’s hate? … You know he loves me.”

In the interview, Diddy also said that he doesn’t take anything 50 Cent says about him seriously.

“When he does that it’s like funny to me,” Diddy said of the trolling. “I don’t really take it personal. I know he has a different sense of humour, and he’s just not in my life. We don’t have to never cross paths, and I will never say nothing negative about him, you know, because that’s just not me.”
