Bob Saget reportedly said he didn’t feel well and that his hearing was “off” before performing a comedy set on the night of his death, according to a colleague.
“I did hear him say, ‘I don’t feel good but I’m ready to do the show. This is what I do this for.’ He seemed to be talking himself up,” showrunner Rosalie Cocci told Orange County police in an interview conducted after the actor’s death, according to audio obtained by Page Six.
It comes as investigators theorise that Saget lost consciousness in the bathroom of his hotel room and fell backward onto the marble floor, striking his head, as reported by People.
Authorities believe Saget regained consciousness and got into bed, where he again lost consciousness and ultimately died.

Ms Cocci, who runs errands for talent and staff at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall in Florida, recalled of the hours leading up to the tragedy.
“He said that his hearing had been off and that was the case that night. He was asking the sound guys to turn everything up.”
The showrunner further claimed that Saget said he hadn’t been feeling well the night before, and that in addition to his hearing being “off,” he had “a sore throat” and was “happy he had lozenges for the stage”.
Ms Cocci claimed Saget “stated” that he was suffering from “long-term Covid” and it was “taking his body a long time to get over it”. She also noted that Saget “seemed OK” and was “cracking jokes” during his nearly two-hour performance.
“He wasn’t sweating, he didn’t miss a beat, nothing slurred … He came out very energetic,” she said of Saget’s performance.
She said Saget had requested Diet Coke and Red Bull for his dressing room but she added she didn’t see him “ingest” anything all night.
The Full House star was found dead in his Orlando hotel room on January 9. He was 65.
His autopsy showed that he had multiple skull fractures as well as bleeding and contusions to his brain and that his death was “the result of blunt head trauma”.
The medical examiner also noted that Saget’s respiratory system was “Covid-positive,” but did not clarify that finding.
His death was ruled an accident and authorities have said there were no signs of foul play or drugs at the scene. There were no signs of illicit drugs or toxins in his body, according to a toxicology report.
Investigators reportedly believe that Saget fell and smacked his head on the marble bathroom floor before going to bed, where he died. Police released photos of the room where Saget died earlier this week.
Saget had posed in a photo with a fan just hours before he died where he was seen smiling.
A judge granted Saget’s family’s request to permanently block the release of Saget’s autopsy report in March.
