She’s a hot favourite to take home an Oscar, but even if she doesn’t get the top gong Olivia Colman has won this year’s award show speeches.
After thanking “my bitches”— aka Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz — after her Golden Globes win, The Favourite star has followed it up with another equal parts delightful and relatable speech at the BAFTAs.
Accepting the BAFTA for best actress, Colman remarked that the audience was “really big,” before fumbling over her speech.
“I don’t know — I do, I do know what to say, I’ve actually written something down, I do know,” Colman said as she suddenly remembered the speech in her pocket, drawing laughter from the crowd.

A “very shaky” Colman apologised for her nervousness as she struggled through her speech, telling the audience: “I can’t read it either.”
“We’re going to get so pissed later!” Colman exclaimed at one point in between thanking someone.
Describing co-stars Stone and Weisz as the “best and classiest and coolest honour guard any woman could ever have,” Colman took her paper apart as she checked to make sure she hadn’t missed anyone.
“Oh god what else am I meant to say — done that bit, I think I’ve done that bit … sorry I swear I’m going to go in a minute,” she said, drawing laughter from the audience once again.
It wasn’t just the BAFTAs crowd that loved Colman’s speech, with viewers at home praising it as “genuine and honest” while one person wished they could watch it on “a loop”.

If BAFTA could award another BAFTA for the best BAFTA acceptance speech, Olivia Colman should win. #BAFTA
