The biggest night of the year for Australia’s film and television industry is underway on the Gold Coast at the 2025 Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) Awards Ceremony and Official After Party.
Russell Crowe is hosting the event and will be joined on stage by Robbie Williams who will be performing his hit song Angels.
The British singer’s biopic Better Man was released in cinemas last year and has been nominated for 16 AACTA awards.
“I’m incredibly honoured to be attending and performing at the AACTA Awards on the Gold Coast,” Williams said.
“The Better Man movie is something I’m extremely proud of.
“For this movie to be embraced by the AACTA membership, with a record-breaking 16 AACTA Award nominations, is a very special moment for me.”
Australian music legend Paul Kelly will also be performing his hit song How to Make Gravy, which was adapted into a film of the same name.
Kelly will be receiving the inaugural AACTA Award for Outstanding Contribution for his music which has been used in many productions over four decades.
“When music and pictures join up in just the right way they both get better. It’s been an honour to be part of that dance.” said Kelly said.
Before the ceremony kicked off, some of Australia’s biggest screen stars made their way down red carpet.
