Aussie stars including Nicole Kidman lost out at this year’s Golden Globes, as Shogun cleaned up and Demi Moore bagged her first win. See the winners.

It was a night of celebration in which Hollywood’s legendary female stars dazzled like never before.

Leading the Aussie charge at the 82nd Golden Globes, an ethereal Nicole Kidman had never looked more radiant as she cosied up to husband Keith Urban on the red carpet.

In a shimmering, backless Balenciaga gown, Kidman, 57, was a vision in silver when she made her grand entrance.

Although she missed out on Golden Globe glory for her role in the sexually charged Babygirl – dramatically usurped by outsider Fernanda Torres, the Brazilian star of I’m Still Here – the night still belonged to Kidman, who was revelling in her 20th nomination.

Her esteemed compatriots, Cate Blanchett, Guy Pearce and bestie Naomi Watts, who has been by her side since their days as Sydney schoolgirls, also missed out on their acting gongs on the film and television world’s big night.

Watts lost out to another female veteran, screen legend Jodie Foster, who was honoured for her role in True Detective: Night Country.

The night belonged to Hollywood’s older women, including Demi Moore, who won the first Golden Globe of her lengthy career for best female actor in a motion picture, musical or comedy for her role as a beautiful actress obsessed with ageing in Substance.

“I really was not expecting that. I’m in shock right now. I have been doing this a long time, over 45 years, [and] this is the first time I have ever won anything as an actor,” the actress, who has been nominated three times previously, said.

Comedian Nikki Glazer, who made history as the first woman to solely host the Golden Globes and donned several outfits throughout the night, opened the show with a scathing monologue that ripped into Hollywood’s elite and referenced P Diddy’s notorious parties.

“Welcome to Ozempic’s biggest night,” the stand-up queen quipped in reference to the weight loss jabs that have been sweeping the celebrity world.
