IT was an emotional Golden Globes as Hollywood’s sexual harassment crisis and the empowerment of women dominated the conversation, so it’s no wonder the stars needed to let their hair down after the ceremony.
Nicole Kidman, who won Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series for Big Little Lies, celebrated with husband Keith Urban and her co-stars at the HBO after-party.
Kidman’s Big Little Lies co-stars Laura Dern and Alexander Skarsgard also won awards for their roles in the show.
Miranda Kerr, pregnant with her second child (her first with husband Evan Spiegel) made an appearance at the InStyle And Warner Bros after-party, showing off her baby bump in a tight black dress.
Despite losing the award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy to James Franco, Hugh Jackman still looked in good spirits with wife Deborra-lee Furness at the FOX, FX And Hulu after-party.
The big winners of the night stood out among the Hollywood A-list as they clutched their coveted gold trophies.
Frances McDormand, who won Best Actress in a Motion Picture for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri and Sam Rockwell, who won Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture for the same film, were seen congratulating each other at the FOX 20 party.
Elisabeth Moss, who won Best Actress in a Drama TV Series for The Handmaid’s Tale, partied the night away with her co-stars at the Hulu celebration.
Saoirse Ronan, who won Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy Motion Picture for Ladybird, was seen walking into the InStyle And Warner Bros party carrying her Golden Globe.
Brothers James and Dave Franco were at the same celebration, after James won Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy for The Disaster Artist.
Salma Hayek and Ashley Judd were at the same shindig, as were Lena Waithe, Eva Longoria, Tracee Ellis Ross and Chris Hemsworth.
The party also attracted some non-actors; models Kendall Jenner and Hailey Baldwin showed up, as did Mariah Carey and boyfriend Bryan Tanaka.
Reese Witherspoon was seen resting her head on Big Little Lies co-star Laura Dern as they arrived for the official HBO afterparty.
The undisputed highlight of the night was a momentous speech by Oprah Winfrey, who brought Hollywood to its feet as she called out sexual harassers while being honoured at the 75th Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles.
“I want all the girls watching to know that a new day is here on the horizon!” Winfrey chanted as the A-list audience jumped to its feet and cheered.
“And when that new day finally dawns, it will be because of a lot of magnificent women, many of whom are right here in this room tonight, and some pretty phenomenal men, fighting hard to make sure that they become the leaders who take us to the time when nobody ever has to say ‘me too’ again!”
Laura Dern, Meryl Streep and other stars in the crowd broke down with emotion and applauded with support as Winfrey addressed the wave of sexual misconduct allegations flooding Hollywood and other industries around the world.
The 63-year-old was being honoured with the Cecil B. DeMille award her outstanding contribution to entertainment.
