Amber Heard reveals first Elon Musk meeting in court

Amber Heard told the court today her first meeting with billionaire Elon Musk came in the wake of an alleged brutal fight with Johnny Depp.

What happens if Johnny Depp wins defamation trial?

Taking the stand as Johnny Depp’s defamation trial against her resumed today after a short break, Amber Heard told the jury that in the wake of a brutal fight at her 2016 birthday party, she had not been in contact with Depp for a month.

But in May 2016, the two reconnected because they were supposed to attend the Met Gala together as Ralph Lauren’s guests.

In the run-up to the event, Heard said, she could not reach Depp or anyone on his team, so she ended up going to the gala in New York City alone.

Heard said Depp stood her up at the 2016 Met Gala – and she struck up a friendship with billionaire Elon Musk.

“He effectively stood me up,” she said.

While waiting to hit the red carpet, Heard said, she found herself standing next to Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk, who she said she did not recognise at first.

“[Musk] was there with his mother,” she said of the billionaire. “He reminded me we had met before … He seemed like a real gentlemen. He was really nice.”

Heard, 36, said she and Musk, 50, eventually “became friends”.

During an alleged brutal fight on her 30th birthday in April 2016, Heard told the court Depp grabbed her by the hair and used her body to knock items off a table.

“I remember trying to fight him off of me,” Heard told the court.

The pair later returned to the bedroom, where Heard described Depp chest-bumping her “in a kind of bro-y way”. The actor then allegedly grabbed his wife by her pubic bone, Heard testified.

“He kind of pushed me down and was asking me, ‘You’re so tough? You wanna be tough like a man now?’” she claimed.

After a while, Heard said: “I remember feeling exhausted and crying.”

She said she asked Depp, “‘Can we not fight like this? Can we just not do this, please?’ I was just so tired, hurt. I remember crying, feeling ridiculous.”

Heard said she used their safe word – “couch” – signalling that she wanted to call a truce. Afterwards, Depp allegedly told her she got what she deserved, that no one would ever love her, and that she had better get used to waking up alone, Heard told the court.

As Depp stormed out of the house that night, Heard claimed he screamed at her, “Happy f***ing birthday.”
