That is one of many personal touches in the new flexible learning space, designed as both a teaching area and chill out zone for students of all year levels.
With only a few weeks until their final exams, the school’s senior students have been given priority use of the new space.
“It went up over the holiday and we weren’t sure what it was going to be like,” year 12 student Nicholas White said.
“But now it’s here it’s a great space, it’s nice and open and it has a good view.
“We come in here to do our study period, there are different areas and comfy couches, and we use it during lunch when we need a quiet space to work.”
Mr White said the new area had come as welcome news after a tough year navigating the pandemic.
“It is a bit of a treat – it’s good that the year 12s have had some priority use,” he said.
“It’s nice to think that this was built during 2020, the year that we are graduating – it’s been a bit of an up and down year, but the grade has pulled together well.
“Before the carpet went down there was a cement base and everyone from the school came and signed their name in a big circle, which makes it special.”
