The Glennie School Parents and Friends’ Association president Mark Ryan and his family ventured out to the Drought Angels headquarters in Chinchilla to present the group with a $3366 donation in support of its operations.
Glennie Old Girl and co-founder of Drought Angels Natasha Johnston showed the Ryan family through its headquarters and outlined how the process works from receiving donations to dispatching food hampers and care packs.
“They offer financial assistance and personalised support to thousands of farming families across Australia,” Mr Ryan said.
“The mechanics behind the gift shop is very impressive and worth a look if you are in the area.”
Drought Angels provides a unique service for which it has become well known within the rural sector and among valued sponsors.
Mrs Johnston said while it was fantastic to give the necessary material items, the ability to reach out and listen to those struggling was the most beneficial.
