A Courier-Mail analysis of the recently-released 2025 NAPLAN data has revealed Brisbane Grammar School in Spring Hill to be the best achiever in the area, with its Year 5 students topping the list with a total score of 567.2 and Year 9 achieving 654.8 which put them third in the area.
Deputy headmaster Steve Uscinski said the outcomes reflected the deeply ingrained culture of learning, the fine work of their teaching staff and the school’s commitment to research-informed instructional practice.
“Brisbane Grammar School uses NAPLAN as it is intended: a diagnostic suite of tests that assists targeted intervention for students with gaps in their learning, and a guide to long-term curriculum planning,” he said.

“We work hard as a team to ensure our learners feel really comfortable and confident so that they’re assessment capable.
“We focus on helping our students to determine what the questions are actually asking so that they can share what they know with clarity.
“Our school’s high potential learner framework focuses on stretching and challenging all our students with regular enrichment opportunities, so I believe that’s coming through as well as we empower of students to make the most of their gifts and talents.”
