REVEALED: These are Toowoomba's least attended schools

NEW data has revealed which Toowoomba schools are the most and least attended.

A HIGHFIELDS school had the top student attendance rating for a Toowoomba secondary school in term three, new data has revealed.

Analysis of My School data by The Chronicle revealed Mary MacKillop Catholic College had a student attendance rate of 95 per cent in term three of this year, as well as a student attendance level of 91 per cent.

The Glennie School and Christian Outreach College Toowoomba also had an attendance rate of 95 per cent, but lower attendance levels, at 90 per cent and 86 per cent respectively.

Student attendance rate is defined as a number of actual full-time equivalent student days attended by full-time students up to year 10 as a percentage of the total number of possible student days attended over the reporting period. Student attendance level is the proportion of full-time students up to year 10, whose attendance rate is greater than, or equal to, 90 per cent over the reporting period.

Centenary Heights State High School had the top state secondary school attendance rate and level in the region, at 92 per cent and 76 per cent.

Toowoomba State High School had the lowest attendance rate of all Toowoomba secondary schools, at 86 per cent. Its attendance level was 57 per cent.

The data includes all absences including disciplinary absences, health absences, unexplained absences and more.
