Quirky comic book style resume goes viral as graphic designer goes hunting for a big break

SHE may not have finished her degree, but this determined job seeker has made an impression with her quirky CV.

A CRAFTY job hunter has put together the ultimate resume to help her stand out from the pack.

Martu, a freelance graphic designer from Argentina, created an amazing comic book CV that has gone viral on social media.

“Hello! My name is Martu!” A cartoon version of the young designer exclaims in the first frame, her arm waving a greeting as she slides down a pole, fireman-style.

The comic goes on to introduce Martu’s background (”I come from the sunny land of ‘futbol’ and tango, of dulce de leche and medialunas!”) and skills, which range from the digital to the hands-on.

What emerges is a picture of an enthusiastic, resourceful and determined potential employee — a view echoed by tens of thousands of LinkedIn users.

After Martu sent a copy to recruiter Jack Thomas of Inde Recruitment, he posted a snap of the printed CV on his LinkedIn account, and it quickly went viral.

One repost, with the caption “This is the best CV I’ve seen in awhile”, received more than 20,000 likes.

Recruiter Radhika Sharma was impressed with the resume.

Martu says she studied 3d Design in Buenos Aires before starting a Visual Arts degree at the National Arts University, getting top marks.

“I stopped attending when the opportunity arose and I could finally move to London,” she says on her website.

“I am fluent in Spanish, English and Italian; I am a 3d max artist, I paint and draw, I have good Art History and Visual Language skills, I can sail, I have a great memory ... I am respectful and observant, always punctual and ready to lend a hand to those who need me.

“I am hoping to find a permanent position in a studio and gain experience and knowledge by learning from others.”

The site includes a favourite quote: “You are who you are when nobody’s watching” — Stephen Fry.

We hope Martu finds her dream job soon.
