Abbie Chatfield has let loose after someone claimed she was being “calculated” by making money from her podcast.
The 29-year-old Bachelor alum, who has over 500,000 followers on Instagram, responded to someone claiming she was somehow being evasive about making money from her podcast, It’s A Lot.
The conversation started because she was responding to another troll claiming she paid Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to appear on her podcast, which she denied.
Somehow, though, that prompted someone to insinuate she wasn’t being transparent about the fact that she makes money from her podcast.
“You do get paid though Abbie. You earn from your podcasts. You aren’t doing it for free. Everything you do is calculated,” the commenter claimed.
Ms Chatfield fired back and said it was pretty clear she gets paid from the podcast because it has ads.
“Of course I get paid for the podcast. Are you joking?” She asked.
“It is my main source of income chook! I get paid for the podcast that is no secret, there are ads throughout the podcast.”

Ms Chatfield joked that people must be thinking she’s advertising for big brands out of the “goodness” of her heart.
“If you think people thought I was doing it for free that I wasn’t getting paid you live in a reality I can’t comprehend. It is crazy,” she said.
People online were shocked that someone would assume that Chatfield wasn’t getting paid for her creative work.
“Are people for real?” One asked.
“Imagine having a job and getting paid,” someone else joked.
“What you get paid for your work!” Someone else equipped.
“They really caught you out there,” another said.
“I do not know why people can’t comprehend income being earned from less normal jobs. I’m a DJ, and people ask all the time if I’m getting paid. Like yeah, it’s my full-time job?” one wrote.
“People are allowed to get paid for their time,” another argued.
Chatfield never shied away from financial conversation. In February this year, she took to social media to share a mortgage dilemma.
The 29-year-old, who bought a $1.875m apartment in Sydney’s eastern suburbs in 2022 and owns a Byron Bay home that she purchased for $1.4 million, shared she was unsure what to do now that her partner, Adam Hyde, is moving into her city residence.
The successful influencer asked how couples navigated the complexity of moving in with their partner when they already have a mortgage.
“I own this apartment, and I’m trying to work out how to split costs. If he pays rent or whatever,” she explained.
Chatfield said it is a “weird situation”, and they earn about the same amount, but she has “trauma” from men leeching off women.
“My main trauma is men stealing women’s money,” she said.
